So YAY! I found some replacements horns for my original Satyxis raiders (in a bits bin at my LGS, can you believe it?!?), and now I'm only missing one out of my 6. Because of this I started repainting them, more to just make them look great sitting on my army shelf like "yeah.. you remember those?".
Ive gotten quite a bit better at painting over the years, but obviously some of my execution remains a bit clumsy Anyway, Heres how they are so far:

Lets call them
1 2 3
4 5 6
So we can discuss them.
#1 is still mid stage- only dress and skin shading are done
#2 is looking good, just finished her brazen brass shoulder plates [cant find a replacement color for this old paint pot btw- any suggestions?], and am going to badab black-line it once dry, and I began experimenting with the Lacerator blade runes. I'm trying to make them cryx-glow, but MAN they are just so TINY! I used Thraka green wash to define the runes better, but would rather have them neon necrotite green (#5 shows an attempt at that) than dark. oh, well, still WIP
#3 is at about the same stage as #1, but I wanted to try to make the horns appear more blighted as they emerged from their pretty little heads, so am going to try to do a greenish/yellow glow to the boney color at the base... looks funky in the camera atm.
#4 is similar to #1/3, just the basics done, no detailing yet
#5 is my favorite, and has received most of the detailing at this point. About the only thing I'm not satisfied with is the cryx glow in the weapon runes, and the blonde hair highlighting/contrast (to get more visible details than a yellow blob- gryphone sepia doesnt seem to be doing enough)
#6 is Ms. One Horn... trying to hide it with her weapon pose. I was thinking about painting her missing horn socket as if the horn was broken off or something- bone laced with red... tainted yellow/green.. I dont know yet. Also her face highlighting is a little too severe- almost cartoonish, and it makes her look like a big nose. :/
Any tips or suggestions much appreciated.
Another thing I want to work on is my photo taking. About all I have besides daylight (what this pic was taken in), is an overhead 75w Clear halogen bulb (crisp white light), another 75w clear light in a desklamp, and the camer a flash. I take clear Macro/Iso shots, but the flash often swamps the minis in glare, but the overhead lights are not enough. :( Any tips to get better pics with a cheapo nikon "coolpix" camera would be appreciated- because that old camera is STILL way better than my smartphone.
