Hi there!

Fresh from the desk. Had to wait a few days to get a day without rain to get the matte clear coat on them.

The small shield on the leader is an old GW Dwarf Shield with some freehand buffalo skull, thought it might fit in.

Did those models on a white primer, thought it would be faster, especially doing the fur blends. Can't say it did cut much. I guess the final two riders will be coate white again, but the champion dragoon will be primed black again.

Seeing work like yours alway inspires/enrages me. So jealous...
But they look really really good. How long did it actually take you to paint them?

I did one of the riders first, to get used to the colours, test the scheme and get a feel for the miniature. The first was about 10-12 hours. After I was happy with the result i painted the next two as a pair in about the same time or a bit more on day 2 and 3, Day 4 Bases, spray sealant and photos. So I estimate it took me about 25-28 hours over the course of a week. I plan on doing the last two as a batch again and to finish of with the long rider champ dragoon last. Right now it's Siege Brisbane on my table.

Really nice work. I'm guessing you used a wash on for the shin on the buffalo?

The shin and skin on the bison is: Basecoat GW Vermin fur + GW Foundation Calthan brown, wash like shade with GW vermin fur and VGC Charred Brown + Skawen Brown ink, touch ups on the basecoat, then GW Vermin Fur + increasing amounts of VMC Ochre Brown. When i was satisfied with the higlights two very very thin glazes of GW Vermin fur again to pull the colours together.

Very nice :) Im getting ready to start on my Cav and had planned on making the leaders Bison an Albino, but I may go ahead and save that for the Dragoons Alpha stud lol. We'll see how mine turn out, I havent painted anything significant in 2 years or more.

With all the effort obviously going into the paintjobs...why are the bases so...un-finished looking in comparison? :)
Really nice stuff otherwise. The bases need some 'pop' though!
