A local con is running a Resurgence event and allowing Hordes to participate. I'm pushing myself and am taking Hexeris because I view him as our weakest warlock. I'll be aiming for scenario wins more often than not, and will be using Skorne's plethora of movement shenanigans to help with this goal.

35:
Hexeris
Shaman
Bronzeback
Gladiator
Bloodrunners
Beast Handlers (Min)
Swordsmen (Full)
w/ UA
Master Tormentor

Beatback, Follow up, Shadow play, Overtake and Sprint should be enough to to quickly contest and eventually take the scoring areas.

50:
Hexeris
Shaman
Bronzeback
Gladiator
Karn
Bloodrunners
Beast Handlers (Full)
Swordsmen (Full)
w/ UA
Tyrant Commander
Master Tormentor

Karn shows up to add Side Step, his animus and his ridiculous melee damage out put. The TC helps get there sooner.

75:
Hexeris
Shaman
Bronzeback
Gladiator
Karn
Drake
Bloodrunners
Beast Handlers (Full)
Swordsmen (Full)
w/ UA
Tyrant Commander
Tyrant Commander
Ferox (Full)
Master Tormentor
Agonizer
Rhadeim

Lurker, another TC, Jump, and Ride-by attacks get added to my non-conventional movement.

In general Hollow goes on the Swordsmen(might eventually make it to the Ferox), Death March to the Bloodrunners. Rapport might go on the Gladiator or the Shaman, but it would just be for the free transfer.

I think your 35pt list will cause you problems. You're titans are moving a maximum of 9" a turn and are reliant on the alpha stike against a WM jack heavy force. I appreciate by your description that you are taking Hexeris because of the challenge but there are some very bad matchups at this level. The cygnar player in me would fancy that list with Siege, a hunter, charger and a defender with a full unit of Nyss or haley, two arc nodes and 2 heavies with either gun mages (plus UA) or long gunners.

Man, that is going to be a hard tournament with Hexeris. My suggestion, drop the Shaman for a krea and the gobbers. At least they'll give you some anti range support. Some Cetrati would work well too by dropping the Swordsmen and the UA. Hollow would be pretty solid on them with death march on the bloodrunners.

I took the advice to heart RE: Ranged defense and changed my lists

35:
Hexeris
Bronzeback
Gladiator
Shaman
Beast Handlers (min)
Swordsmen (full)
w/UA
Swamp Gobbers
Tyrant Commander & Standard
Void Spirit
Feralgeist.

50 add:
Molik Karn
Master Tormentor
Void Spirit

75 add:
2 Beast Handlers
Bloodrunners
Ferox (full)
Tyrant Commander and Standard Bearer
Rhadeim

Round 1 vs Mercs(Gorten) Highlights
BB counter charged a gun bunny dealing ~17 damage.
BB "Dancing Queened" through a pair of different gun bunnies in a pair of hits each.
Shaman w/ train wreck kept pushing Gorten out of a control zone, and limited his ability to move forward. Opponent said that the constant pushes limited Gorten's ability to catch "enough" things w/ his feat to make it worth popping.
Void Spirit and Feralgeist quickly got into my opponent's zone and Merc's lack of Magical weapons hurt him bad.
I never needed to pop my feat(though had I used it High shields aren't good at killing each other, and Boomhowlers would have failed ~33% of the time). Hexeris could have been replaced by Lord Tyrant Generikxis a Warlock w/ 7 fury and no spell list or feat w/ no real change in how the game played(I think there was a successful Hollow Tough at some point).
Win by scenario.

Round 2 vs Khador(Butcher) highlights:
Praets took the charge very well thanks to Hollow, and their mini feat ate a bunch of IFP.
Didn't get to pop feat because on the turn it would have been helpful Hexeris was too blocked in(had to prevent the Kayazy killstroke) to move to where it would have been most helpful.
Used the Feralgeist as an A2A target; rolled a 5 killing a bunch of Kayazy.
Cast A2A again(rolled 6 on additional hits) and cleared out the last of the Kayazy in the central area.
Trainwrecked Shaman kept Beast 09 out of "alpha strike" range on the turn that matters.
Voids, and feral hurt the opponent's ability to score in his control zone(again only the caster had the ability to hurt them).
Win by scenario.
Hexeris preformed very well. A large part of that was due to how "reliable" A2A proved to be this round.

Round 3 vs Skorne(eMakeda) highlights:
Feat help his two full units of Cetrati turn into 2 Cetrati.
Tried A2A this game as well. Only rolled a 1 though so my feralgeist's brave sacrifice was for naught.
Ferox w/ ride-bys are shockingly effective.
Win by assassination when eMakeda charged my gladiator, failed to kill it and failed to heal his Molik Karn's spirit w/ either eMakeda or his paingivers.

Judging by your reports it sounds like you played three solid games through the event, but in the end Hexeris still didn't really make much of an impression. Bouncing A2A through the feral seems as good a use as we can have for that spell; did you feel like there were any other particular moments when Hexeris seemed to click a bit more than expected?

On a side note, how did the gobbers do for you?

did you feel like there were any other particular moments when Hexeris seemed to click a bit more than expected?

He felt most awesome in round 3 vs Skorne. A good amount of effect from Hollow(several tough rolls and some extra fury to make the assassination run look less appealing), an A2A, some Vampiric Reaving/beat backing, and an effective feat(not difficult when Cetrati hit each other so easily and hard enough to reliably kill(due to the bits of damage several Ferox and Praetorians sacrificed themselves to deal)).
So he felt to click best when 7 of his 11 abilities/spells were used. W/o the Vampiric Reaving or the effective feat the game I'd have lost, so I'm fearing extra hard for his ability vs WM.

On a side note, how did the gobbers do for you?

They ran turn one w/o fail. This put them in good position to block stuff the next turn, or drew fire that would have been turned on Praetorians had they not been there. Either way its a good use on 1 point, though in a Hexeris list I'll probably grab a feralgeist first, but in most other lists I'll grab the gobbers before filling a beast handler squad.

During the field test I actually put feedback once (after a series of disappointing losses with the Hexmeister) that PP should get rid of his spells and feat and just give him +15 Beast points. Thankfully PP ignored that one.
