Escalating with Grissel

25 points,

Grissel - 5
Earthborn 10
Slag 6
Full kriel warriors 6
-> standard and piper 2
-> 2x Caber throwers 2
Krielstone bearer - 3
-> elder 1

to 35,
Champions 10

to 50
Blitzer 9
fel caller 3
Chronicler 2
Flush out krielstone 1

I have play-tested this lightly and I love the 35 level, the 25 and 50 level are ok but need more testing. I am toying with the plan of swapping the Kriels at 25 with the champs at 35 but I think that the ground that they can cover being 14 troops strong is amazing. the cabers hitting at p+s 18 under the stone and acidic touch is nasty too. Giving them two attacks with the fel call makes me very happy.

I had one game where the cabers crippled a castigator with their 4 attacks. Just make sure you don't push the thing your hitting too far away.

I actually think your 25 list looks good. You've got some good sources of damage buffs, and the EBDT is a pretty nice guided missile. Adding Champs at 35 seems like a natural extension, and if you're comfortable with it then don't worry about it.

I'm not sure I would throw the Blitzer in for the 50 point version though. I mean, I know he's a ranged option, but he's also a good amount of Fury and basically does what the EBDT does. I think you might be better off with Mauler if you really want an extra beast, because d3 shots a turn isn't going to be game-winning, but an extra +3 STR to the EBDT making an assassination run very well could be, even against high-DEF warlocks.

If you're just looking to fill points, what other models do you have? Personally, I'd go with a full unit of Fennblades plus a Champion Hero or Totem Hunter as a better value, or maybe an Axer and Champion Hero/Totem Hunter for the movement buff on the EBDT.

I think you should go Slag Troll for the DMG buff & ROF2 POW12 PewPew, then pick up 3 more champs & a Champion Hero. MOAR Champs.

Slag - 6
Champs - 6
Champ Hero - 3

I already have a slag in my lists...

The second squad of champs sounds like a good idea. But this is MKII remember, i will be hurting if I loose my heavy. I would like to have two at the 50 point level. Grissel can handle two heavies and a slag fury wise. I was going with the blitzer because I think repulsion with hoof it will be a great way to get right in the face of an enemy caster.

Ah, but what will you do once you're there? Most casters/locks can shrug off a free strike from a Blitzer/EBDT, or just use themselves/another model to kill it. That's why I think a Mauler might be a better option because you get another damage buff and better output.

It's worth mentioning that Repulsion is RNG: Self and Hoof It occurs after all activations have ended, so neither is going to be terribly useful offensively other than to reposition after an attack.

I have tried out the 50 point list and need to change it around a bit.

The hero is in for the fel caller. The fel calls just disrupt Grissel from doing her job. The hero could do a lot more damage with the right damage buff.

I am still debating swapping the blitzer for the mauler. I like the ability to do some range, especially after heroes tragedy.

So my end list is

Grissel +5
Blitzer 9
Earthborn 10
Slag 6
Full kriel warriors with 2 cabers and UA 10
Champions 10
Full krielstone with elder 5
Trollkin champion hero 3
Chronicler 2

looks good to me.

This is a list for resurgence. I am worried about the objectives but the kriels strech out to such a big line.

Plan is to hoof it the kriels to the enemy deployment, sit grissel and the stone in the middle, beasts take flank.

So far the big flaw has been I leave my objective open, a stone scribe is able to sit back but I am still not earning any points for it.

You might think about Horthol and some Longriders. Against most armies, LR with hoof it can move around their front line and engage them all from the back, while your Champs move into charge position.

Thats a good point PG_theummhmmguy, I have a full squad and Horthol. Where would I put them into the lists though?

I need to wait for Horthol in the 50 point game. So how about,

the 15 points from 35 to 50
Horthol 5
LR 7
Chronicler 2
Flush out Stone squad 1

I am worried about Jack heavy lists, will the long riders make up for losing the blitzer?

I just found out my Chronicler was incorrectly shipped to me, so I have to change my lists here.

25
Grissel
Earthborn
Slag
Kriel warriors with UA and two Cabers
Krielstone with elder

35
Champions

50
min Long Riders
Horthol
Champion Hero

Does the champion hero make up for the next two krielstone bearers and the chronicler?

Overall I like it but I think you'd be much better served using a fell caller rather than a hero. They're both good offensive models but the caller brings pathfinder to the table and with a full unit of cavalry that isn't to be underestimated.
