Having played them a little, I find them to be quite capable killers. With eyeless sight, you aren't worried about those darn manhunters or Gudrun hiding behind the woods til they can get off the charge. Instead, you have one of these buggers charge it, Truestriked of course, and watch it go to town.

It only gets 1 charge, but hopefully, it will be sufficient to kill the moderate ARM on the enemies it should be attacking. Then, of course, it slinks away with the Harrier's amazing speed to avoid attacks.

For 2 points, incredibly quick, harasser. I like it.

I can see most warlocks taking 2 shredders and 2 harriers in most lists.

Yea I like it. Great hit and run solo hunter. They also work well to take out officers in some cases (Low arm models) and get away free from reprisals.

For 2 points its as good as any choice. Shredders and Harriers are currently exactly where they need to be. I miss pack mentality and I always thought them eating each other was neat and characterful but I don't want to pay 3 points for either. :)

As of now they are good with Vayl and Ethangs of course but also Lylyth with blood lure, parasite, and her standard ranged shots.

I can really see running ALL shredder or Harrier lists even though its not the end-all-be-all it could perform pretty well.

The hit and run (er sprint) could be rediculous on terrain heavy boards. With any of the above Locks you would have them at 10 inch threat (lylyth free charge) 12-vayl/13-thags avg/13-lylparasite POW and 3D6charge/4D6-drop low Thags manifest which is pretty good for 2 pt models.

Throw in a forsaken for some fury management and now a couple of punches.

I am liking the new Harrier better than the okd Harrier to be honest. Like the old one you can cast True Strike and then charge out of CTRL area to jump on a model with an auto-hitting charge attack. But now with Sprint you can often retreat back into the warlocks CTRL are afterward. Plus while the Shredder became relatively more expensive, the Harrier stayed about the same.

edit: nm, Bochaba needs to learn to read.

"The next melee attack made by this model this activation hits automatically."

This reads to me that it only works in the activation in which it is cast. The fact that it doesn't expire (even after being used) means that a model can be only effected by once per game [multiple effects with the same name don't stack]. No expiration on true strike = very bad in this case.

I'm sure its a mistake though..

I really like the new Harrier too although im concerned 2 points might be too cheap for both Shredders and Harriers. Harrierspam with Vayl and the Sorceress is on my list of things to try. Seems like it might not be so bad with two Angelius accompanying.

This reads to me that it only works in the activation in which it is cast. Yes this would be right, I should've double checked it. Im just used to seeing explicit expiry statements.

I'm glad to see a group of us are in agreement. Are there any changes or improvements?

Does anyone feel it's too powerful?

I, personally, think it's just right.

ah yes- the harrier, the only beast that we want to let frenzy now.
seriously, we should always have 2 of them who cares if they frenzy? heck, take 10 of them.

I am a fan of MK II harrier. :) good in my books. I've been thinking about converting some, using a harrier base, with some middle angelius wings. (I like the angelius wing sculpt a little more)

harriars are pretty good with the shepherd now, since you can true strike then charge (2 pts of furry used while in his command range) kill whatever it is you wanted to kill then slink back into his command range, which will easily let him move up and remove the fury you just spent on it...

lets you hunt those pesky solos who like to run out by themselves out in the middle of nowhere (compared to where you warlock is)

That's good thinking there.

That's absolutely deadly. We need to save that concept for the eventual Harrier Tactica that we'll need pinned.

Well done.

I'm buying the Battlebox soon, and was planning on converting 2 of the Shredders to Harriers. I'm glad to hear they are worth their points! I also have a shephard in my list, so I know just where to put him now!
