Does anyone mind explaining me the awesomeness of Blight Storm, I simply do not get it. :(

It's an auto hit really. I used to mix it with striders to ensure damage or take out single wound infantry easily. I have to admit that I tend to use the hellion for the synergy with winged beasts, the magical spray and some protection from ranged attacks (though I've never pulled that one off - longunners can move out of the AOE and still have range to shoot)

it's to help beat down those hugely armored menoth troops.

You combined it with eLylyth's feat in mark 1 to ensure killing everything. That is, any target you got it on.

It's used to say, "Up yours, armor! I have a crapton of shots!" Its effectiveness is almost totally dependent upon the volume of shots you can generate.
It'll chew up some infantry. That's not normally something we struggle with, but it's funny to just wipe a unit of infantry with multiple ARM buffs right off the table (did this to a whole unit of Sword Knights under Defensive Line, Arcane Shield, and Stryker1's feat-- Blight Storm means Striders aren't impressed by ARM 24).
It'll still tear up warjacks/warbeasts too, just not with the same efficiency as back in MKI. This is because of the changes to our other units, though, and not because of Blight Storm. Even now, though, with Blight Storm a unit of Striders will strip at least six points of damage off of a heavy regardless of armor. The upward bound of what we have right now would be a full unit of Archers with the UA that forfeited movement-- that's 22 shots, which means at least 22 potential damage points.
Finally, you don't have to decide between rolling for damage and doing the auto-damage. Roll away-- if you fail to beat ARM, you do a single point. So each hit is a guaranteed point, and could potentially be higher if you can roll that much higher than ARM.

Its also fantastic for saving you from having to boost damage when a spell's special effect requires you to damage the target ;)

I hope someone fights me with one someday. I like the concept! One of the few (but impressive few) Legion models that tempt me towards a force.
However, this does seem a "once in 10 games" ability. Does Legion have a lot of good "on damage" spells that can use he help, more than a magic shotgun(copyright OldOneEye) spray?

Saeryn has sunder spirit.
Thags has Flesh eater or mutagenesis.
Lylyth has lock the target, and at pow 10 would almost need the hellion just to work on the models you want it to.
I'd say lock the target and Mutagenesis are probably worth it.

And that spell is really her 3rd most important ability anyway.
In order of importance (IMO):
1. Built in free charges for flyers (this is huge)
2. Magical spray, that can be done at high speed or hit and run style with ride by.
3. Tying up squishy ranged troops with reach and/or the no shooting spell (with cunning use of terrain)
4. Melee against solos.
5. The auto-point thing.

Are people using the Hellion with mk2 Elylyth? Really hard to hide a lg base when you're battlegroup has stealth and spending 4pts on something that doesn't benefit from her feat seems difficult to justify.
