So. If you've read many of my posts, you'll learn that I am broke as a joke, and hate to spend money on leisure items. The lifestyle of a graduate student affords two things 1) Food and 2) Lodging. I did stumble across The War Store awhile ago, but it always seemed too good to be true. They are, as far as I can tell, greatly reduced in price. But I've been warry about buying from LGS's online compatriots after being screwed over in the past on a nearly $100 item. So tell me people, has anyone used the War Store before? Any recomendation? Problems using it?
Also, any alternatives that may be more reliable would be welcome suggestions as well!
Thanks for your input gentlemen, and enjoy the fully MKII experience.

The War Store is fine. I've ordered from them several times, never had any major issues. The one time I had a problem, it was with an Infinity mini which was replaced that week.

...the warstore is pretty great, if you live in the USA (postage sucks)

It all depends on what I'm ordering. If I'm buying just models and in bulk, I use chaosmailorder, their prices are a little better. When I'm buying assorted hobby stuff, I fill neals wallet some. It all depends on what I'm buying, I've had nothing but good experiences with both. Both have good prices, and great customer service.

Thank you sirs for the information!
And to the above, I'm not paying for an education, so the scholarship suits me just fine.

I just made a $100 dollar order on the War Store, and it's not my first. The only issue I ever had was getting two P3 Khador Red Bases and no Khador Red Highlight, and they mailed the missing one for free and let me keep the duplicate. I'd buy there so much more often if I wasn't trying to keep my LGS afloat. :)

I have purchased from The War Store once in the past and all went well.
You may also consider picking up some used figures from local players. I've gotten a few unwanted figures in exhange for some painting in the past.

Neil at the WarStore is very standup. I have been dealing with him for years and have never been disappointed.

I usually buy from Dungeon Trader, better prices than from the War Store and I've never had any problems.

postage is terrible from warstore to canada. it's bizarre, for three blisters it costs between 20 and 25 dollars in shipping from warstore.. and 5 dollars from an ebay store

I can vouch for both Dungeontrader and The War Store as being reliable. I usually shop at Dungeontrader if it's just PP stuff, and The War Store if I want to include GW items or anything else that Leonard doesn't carry.

I have used both the Warstore and Dungeontrader previously with no hassles.

i think i recently discovered why this happens by accident, when shipping a usps flat rate box to canada the charge would have been $27, i went home and wrapped it in white paper and the shipping was $8.
the warstore must make use of the flat rate shipping exclusively.

I've purchased from both The War Store and Minature Market with only positive results.

If you're Canadian I whole heartedly recommend FRPgames.
I've used the Warstore twice but I've been using FRPgames for all minis for 4ish years now. If you're in The US, I'd say just figure out who has the cheaper prices/shipping as they both provide Stand Up service.
I still miss White of their Eyes though.

i just ordered from warstore 2 weeks ago. They did get it to the courier service in 1 day but it took jhonny air 1 1/2 weeks to get to the philippines.
The prices are no joke i ordered around 60 $ worth of models as an experiment and even after paying around 15 $ in total shipping expenses i was still paying 20% less than i would have if it was retail.

Miniature Market is where I buy War Machine models almost exclusively. Their prices are usually slightly lower than the War Store, but the best part is that any order over $75 is free shipping. They also ship the next day.
I rarely order $75 worth of models, but my friends and I pool together our money to buy something for our respective armies, and the order easily passes the $75 mark.
On a side note, one thing I purchased from the War Store over Miniature Market was my army transport. I just had a better deal with them since I wanted a certain amount of trays. Everything went well and got here on time.

I personally love superherogameland. I've bought from them at least four times in the last year, orders almost always exceeding $80, and though the shipping isn't overnight by any stretch, they're accurate on the order and you will get a tracking number. Usually your items are shipped the same day, but it's on the other side of the country for me so it does take almost a week if not more for me. Good luck with your searches!

I've been in the grad school boat... still paying off those loans (for what the scholarships and such dont cover) and the credit card debt (for being able to eat), so I look for the best bang for my buck as well. I dont have a Game store closer to me than about a 45min-1hr drive, so I end up ordering my stuff most of the time. I tend to order from both the war store and ccg armory. They are both fantastic to deal with. ccg armory's prices tend to be cheaper, but thewarstore's shipping is almost always cheaper. I usually fill out the order on both sites then see the total with shipping and see which is cheaper.

The warstore FTW. I have ordered from them, regularly for years and never had any problems. Good customer service, fast shipping, great selection and awesome prices.
Neal does a great job keeping his warhouse gobbers in line and I hear he oversees everything from a floating command chair similar to Admiral Ackbar...

Add another to positive reviews for both The Warstore and Dungeon Trader. I've ordered from Dungeon Trader a couple times with no problems, and The Warstore multiple times with no problems.

I've had issues with Dungeon Trader in the past that took several months to fix. I've ordered from the War Store several dozen times, never had an issue. If price is the reason you are not shopping there, send Neal an email of the site name and total price including shipping and he will match it (and usually lower his price oin his site).

Superherogameland is usually the cheapest, but the shipping can be slow (sometimes their inventory isn't up to date). I try to make small purchases at the LGS and one even gives discounts. I'm a grad student too, I know how it is. You can get an occasional steal on ebay too. Actually I just bought ~$95 of models on eBay for ~$35.
As a Canadian customer of the War Store, I've found that the trick is to just wait until there's a bunch of stuff you want to order, and then bite the bullet and pay the stupid shipping cost. I've been pleased with their service to date, so I don't mind.
That said, I'm still waiting for my birthday Ret models that I ordered back on Nov. 11th, though the problem has been entirely the post office's fault. I *do* wish Neal would let me pay, say, five bucks more for FedEx...
Edit: Models finally turned up. Stupid post offices...
