My first battle with Retribution

Well, I'm still waiting on my big lot from a Bartertown deal, but I had picked up some ROS items from my LGS and got my first game in today against a rather seasoned (5+ years) Cygnar player.

A 25 point game and at the end of round 3, this is what it looked like...

My Sentinals...all 10 and the UA dead
My Nyss...all dead but Cylena and 1 grunt
Eiryss...dead
Nayl...dead
Chimera...a smoldering heap of nothing...
1 Stormsmith dead...

So to begin Round 4....
Narn, Garrath, and 2 Nyss were left against
Kara Sloan (behind a mass of PK)
Cyclone
Charger
Sentinel
6 Precursor Knights and the UA
1 Stormsmith
1 GMCA
1 Squire and 1 Reinholdt

I was hating myself for playing this fragile faction and not playing the Khador list I had intended to play.

Round 4 recap
2 Nyss advance, kill 1 PK
Garrath charges, misses, 2nd attack kills 1 PK and now has LOS and range to Kara for a Gallows attack. Hits...damage is 8, but only moves her 2 inches forward. Narn charges over 3 PK and a shocked Reinholdt to land B2B with Kara...and misses the charge attack roll....

I'm really hating the Elf life now....

Oh, he has a second blade...hits, deals enough damage to kill her.

I'm digging the Elf life now....:p

oh damn...I forgot move Narn 7 more inches...

Ya, Retribution can seem fragile at 1st glance (looking at your Myrmidons) but once you analyze them, they are more durable than some would expect. It always stuns people when they see my Dawnguard with arm 17. The Myrmidons come as a surprise to many since they have as many boxes as a Protectorate heavy which are 2nd in terms of damage boxes and the Phoenix especially with its regenerating ability pisses people off.

Anyway glad you enjoyed your 1st game, keep playing and you will learn to love it more. They play so much different than my Protectorate and that's why I really like em.
