I am perplexed about one of Grim Angus's spells.

Marked for Death - 8 inch range, Target enemy model/unit suffers -3 Def and loses incorporeal and Stealth, etc etc

"Stealth grants all ranged and magic attacks a miss from over 5 inches."
My question is, "How can a spell like Marked for Death even work unless the model is 5 inches or less from the caster?" It would seem that from >5 to 8 inches would miss therefore the spell would not take affect.

Looking forward to your responses.

Thanks

You certainly couldn't cast it on a Stealthed model unless you were within 5". However, it's still a solid unit debuffer and on upkeep, and would work at full range on an Incorporeal model. If you want to de-Stealth the model/unit though, be within 5".

Also, it is possible for such spells to be on models who can ignore stealth.

I think this spell is very silly since to use it you basically have to put your warlock within charge range just to debuff a stealth model. I can see how it would be used late in the game but not in the first few rounds. You're asking to get creamed.

Magnus sees my dilema. It aint worth the risk to get my caster in charge range of Bane Knights, Cetrati, etc. to take out one solo.

Problem is a solo like the pistol wraith is a pain in the butt and a spell like this or animus would help greatly.

I have some faith that this will get solved. The Field Test version of the Black 13th had a similar problem, and even then you could hope that the AoE caught some models, and that got fixed up. I hope that PP will appreciate the need to not have silly spell interactions on Casters and Locks - Locks especially 'cause they have fewer inherent spells.
