To much magisters or is it fine to keep 3 of them?
and soulless escort, should I use them with the houseguard riflemen or with one of my BM?

3 Magisters are fine... personally I'd push for 4 (though you can't get that without loosing a unit of Houseguard, or your arcnode).

It won't be a popular choice, but I'd be tempted to drop the second unit of Battlemages, Take a third arcanist (moar power to your jacks), and add more soulless across all your units... though a Griffon may be a better choice (pathfinder, reach).


Those are the options keeping the Houseguard - my current 50pt list drops the Halberdiers for Magisters, Arcanists, Soulless and a Griffon. (It's had limited play so far though)

I love the battlemages (+Rhan feat make them very good), but if i drop the halberdiers i lose a great defense wall form my mages.

or i can drop an magister for 2 soulless escouts for my BM
but you say that 3 magisters or quite good, (mayby 4)

or drop a unit of BM for 1soulless escort, 1arcanist, 1magister.
can i take 4magister when i have 1unit of Bm in the tiers list?

Are you stuck on doing a Rahn Tier list?

If not, you can always switch to a combined arms list by taking out the Rifleman and picking up a unit of Stormfall Archers. After that fill out the rest of your list with solos/jacks. Granted you lose some of the Tier benefits but you can make up for that with the variety of options you will have.

If you want a 4th Magister, you could possibly drop the Rifleman UA. Since with Ranked Attacks the Rifleman can fire through the Halberdiers. Just a thought.

Other than that the list looks fairly solid.

...Magisters aren't "quite good" magisters are "GOOD". They don't offer as many attacks as HSBM, but they do offer more options and greater accuracy.

you get +1 FA for Magisters per HSBM unit you have. So you need 2 units to be able to run 4 Magisters.


You could always drop the soulless for another Magister.
...Play around with a few things and see what works for you.


...It's local Meta dependant, but I'd personally cut from the Halberdiers before the Riflemen.

Anti-Magic can really pwn youre ranged game, and Mages are pretty good in melee as is. IMO Halberdiers just add some extra armour.
