So all my poking around this forum recently has inspired me to try my hand at a slight model conversion for the first time, and I'm looking for a few suggestions.

The idea is to rotate and bend the T-Head's left arm a little so that the palm is facing directly upward, and then curl the fingers until they're midway between his normal open hand and a fist. Then whip up something resembling a glowy orb of electro-pulsy doom to place inside (or have hover slightly above?) the curled fingers. So, what should I use for the ball of lightening? I was thinking of using a marble, but I have no idea if primer would stick to something like that. Any other suggestions?

Also, any techniques on painting a glowy orb of electro-pulsy doom would be greatly appreciated. I haven't had to paint anything to glow yet, so I'm not sure how to go about it.

I was also thinking about lifting one of the legs a little and have him stepping on something (Khador infantry? I dunno), but that should be comparatively easy.

Anyway, suggestions welcome/appreciated. Thanks in advance!

The easiest and most 'realistic' looking would probably be to make a loose ball out of ~.4mm wire, with a few wire ends sticking out of it. Of course you'll want the wire to twist and zigzag with some random pattern when you make a ball out of it.

i actually did a very similar pose for the hand in my stormclad conversion. the elbow gave me more trouble than the hand but be very carful bending or cutting the fingers, i left a few marks on the metal. i had to file away and resulpt.

I would probably just use a plastic pearl or irridescent marble, and paint the palm of its hand in a bright corresponding color to create a light effect illusion. Otherwise, the better aesthetic route to take would be to carefully drill a small hole into a clear glass or plastic marble, then wire it and the hand/arm assembly with an LED light. It might take a little research if you're not handy with that sort of stuff, but it definitely would look pretty slick.
