35pt pNemo

Hey chaps and chapesses, I've taken a brief respite from my mercs to put together a list for my favourite caster, Nemo at 35pts.

pNemo
-Centurion
-Hammersmith
-Lancer
Squire
JWC
Arlan
Black 13th
Min Precursor Knights + UA

However, I really would like to replace the Hammersmith with a Stormclad while retaining the Centurion, which means shaving 2 points from elsewhere, which gives me a few options:

a) Drop Squire
b) Drop Arlan
c) Drop PK UA
d) Drop B13th and add 2pts of something else

I play in a high ARM meta (such as Khador and Searforge), so I need to be able to play the attrition game, hence the Centurion, and I have found one heavy is just not enough.

Any thoughts?

Drop the Precursors, Add in some Stormblades and use the leftover 2pts?

If I'm going to drop to a six man unit, I'd rather drop the PK UA instead. The PKs are faster and tougher than the Stormblades and have Spell Ward.

Maybe I should drop the Black 13th, but I'm concerned I have no ranged support whatsoever.

I more often dislike Spell Ward than like it, especially when I have access to AS or Blur. Not to say that it's bad, but you've got Jr and AS'ed Stormblades have the same ARM as Shield Walled PKs. Also, the Hammersmith is my favorite 'jack to run with either Nemo. But this is your list, not mine.


Given the options you put forth, I wouldn't drop the Squire because you really want to be able to be able to cast spells, upkeep buffs, and still fill up your heavies with focus when using pNemo. Same reason for not dropping Arlan because he'll give you one or two focus a turn for the entire game. The B13 are your only real ranged support in the list so I'd be hard presses to pull them. So among the options you listed, I'd have to say to pull the PKs UA.

Yeah I'm inclined to agree with you dergliss in regards to the UA being the only option, as knights are really only there to protect Nemo and the support.

Spell Ward doesn't really bother me too much, as I intend to AS one of the two heavies, and I believe Deflection still effects the PKs as it does not target them, so they still advance up at ARM20.

Maybe I'll try the Hammersmith for a few games then drop the UA and put in the Stormie and see what happens.
