Hi All

As Skorne was the faction that got me into Privateer Press, I was quite happy when they announced the field test was coming out early. Though they ended up being about 1pt more than I projected, I've been chomping at the bit to run the Titan herd. There really is something satisfying when a 10ft wall of 'roid rage Titan starts smashing stuff...:D. I'm currently running:

Game 1: vs. Kreuger Circle

Its my first game with new and improved Xerxis, and the battle line is drawn. The Bronzy forms the center of the line with 3 cetrati locked in shieldwall on either wing of the Titan. Gladiators lock down the flanks of each wing with all support troops behind.

The Circle army features a lot of Tharn. The shapeshifters are crawling out the woods, running at the lines full bore. Praetorians are ordered to receive the brunt of the attack, but are promptly cleared by Kreugers feat. The Bronzy receives the army of Karak and braces itself. The Tharn assault clears the remaining infantry screen and puts a dent into the cetrati. The Bronzy suffers a few bruises but is in fine shape. A feral warpwolf with the upkeep killer spell leaps in does a good amount of damage. By now, the Titans suffered a broken tusk and is losing a fair amount of blood. The Titans on the wing are untouched. Paingivers behind them ready to lash away.

Kruegar has gotten to within trainwreck range and the Bronzy is drooling with anticipation. The Skorne begin to clear the obstacles (this includes Xerxis outright killing the warpwolf) but fail at clearing a the last Tharn or two with reach to the Bronzy. With his guts, barely hanging in, Tyrant Xerxis calls off the trainwreck and proceeds to consolidate his line. The Bronzy would not have survived the two free strikes. A fully raged one , possibly, thanks to Armor of Karak, but then the Titan would have not had the fury left to grind Krueger into the dirt. Instead, the Bronzy rages into a few more Tharn. Easily tearing them to pieces.

The Titans on the flanks take part in the clean up, but are kept pretty hemmed in due to the preponderance of reach.

His forces blunted, the circle reserve begin to pound on the Bronzy. he faces an unbelievable amount of punishment but hangs in there. Krueger blows the Bronzy back with some sort of thunderbolt, sending the beast barreling into my lines. (Its surprising how much stuff a Titan can knockdown.) Xerxis himself is trapped underneath its bulk and is quickly sorrounded by Druids. The dirt people begin to repeatedly stab at their prey. The Bronzy is destroyed, as the flanks of my line begin to close in. One Gladiator tramples thru a mess of druids, but fails to kill many. They are too swift. The other Gladiator on the opposing flank closes the net on Krueger, how by now has personally locked horn with Xerxis. This Gladiator is all kinds of wrecked though, Xerxis has been using him as his personal pin cushion. Shrugging off the damage being heaped upon him. After taking the full brunt of the circle attack, Xerxis is left with 3 life. Kreuger is in melee with him.

Skorne Win*

MVP: BronzeBack all the way. This bastich is a lightning rod. Armor of Karak lets him take an incredible amount of pain. The fact that he attracted so much attention, put my counter charging troops in a enviable spot. I'm surprised that I didn't see Mr.Alten out there.

* as it turns out, I done messed up the rules for reaving, believing that you could leach from a beast destroyed via transfer. :( Had I not been able to do that. It would have clearly been a circle win. Sorry Xylon!!
