Awesome, I love the dark blending. Gives it a battleworn look (perhaps scorching from all that rain of death).
I like the open arms too. More menacing than the stock pose's imitation of a boring metal boulder.

I really like the brownish-red, it's a good look.

I've never been particularly sold on the "arms wide open" look, but that's just me.

That is one hell of an excellent paint job. What paints did you use to yield that result? That sort of shade/look is exactly what I'm looking for for my Khador.

Thanks for replying.

@Manse: Yes, I decided to assemble the jack with this pose because the pose on the box isn't really good in my opinion. And you can't see a lot of details.

@KeiAsaki: Colors aren't important, in my opinion. Everybody uses different colors (vallejo, P3, GW, Andrea etc.) and everybody can paint better with some kind of colors.
About tonality, a light red and black may be enought. If you would like you can add some yellow for the last light (but don't add too much yellow, or it will be orange), and maybe a very very small quantity of green to black.
About metallics, it's a boltgun metal base (here I write it's a GW color and the name, because is one of the best metallics colors and, for exemple, vallejo ones aren't so good) and a washing of blakc+red for shades.
If you've to paint something like a warjack (or MOW,Iron fang and similars) start with a black base color, than paint metallics of boltgun metal (or the metallic color you use) than paint armour.
When you finished painting the armour paint the details and washing on metals.
It helps to contrast, it's very important on tabletop miniatures.

P.S: sorry for my bad english

I have two of these guys, one open and one closed (sometimes swap them out mid game to show his status.) My poses are pretty static though and I see more and more reasons like this to change that.

When I look at this guy I think he just blew up a squad of the enemy and now he's like, "Here's your chance! Come get me, I DARE you."

...then more often than not he is promptly destroyed.

Love it, that base makes it a display piece.

This needs to be modded to have the armourcast "hamster rounds" firing out in all directions...

Love the basing.

Very nice painting, but when I see the pose all I hear is "Jazz Hands!"

Before the forum switch, somebody posted up the sweetest Avatar and Devastator. The Devastator was modeled to look as if he was in a barreling charge (almost American Football tackle) with one arm drawn in to do damage, and the other flying open. All the details were exposed, the piece was dynamic, and it was game playable because everything could get snug in its front arc.

Best devastator I ever saw: anyone know where those pictures are?
