So, I've been reading up on taking 2 drillers. I own two, and originally loved the idea. My problem was, I sucked at the whole bait a driller trick.

Now, with the addition of the basher to our army, I think I can pull it off. See, I loves me so basher on thor, pronto followed by slam, then follow up... you can fly around the table with that guy. Almost every game I slam a heavy through enemy lines. The issue is, after that, the basher get mobbed and after a few turns... boxed, but all that would be fine if he's playing the bait/distraction card. Now, not only is he getting his slam off, but he's a massive distraction. This allows my drillers to get up the field.

Also, if thor had a driller on him also (I know people are going to flip over 13 pts on thor... just hang on) he could move to pronto-ing and tuning the driller. Plus, since the basher is usually out of my range and half boxed once it slams, all thor has to focus on is the driller once the basher makes its move. I plan on it getting boxed, so thor really only has a driller on him, he is just a launching pad for the basher.

In conclusion... My list: 35/+7

I personally find the Basher is an expensive 7 point investment as bait. I'd rather bait with one of the driller then Bash the hell out of whatever take the bait.

Yesterday a strength of Granite, tuned up BASHER too out a Seether using one focus point (though he did bash it into terrain for the extra dice), only needed the original slam and a second attack to do it.

I never thought of it before but a SoG Basher is almost as powerful as the driller, it's POW 19 compared to 20/21, yes, but with the slam being free it still gets 4 attacks (slamm, buy 3 attacks) and assuming the slam hits, all those attacks hit automatically (where as the driller still has to hit twice to get his 4 attacks).

Of course should the slam fail, it's not a good day.... which is why I only did it after using landslide (need 4s to hit).

ANYWAY, my point was that if Gorten has the Basher, don't count it out as a heavy hitter, it only puts out a little less than the Driller in damage, personally I think that other than a few exceptions (Khador heavies, Avatar) it's perfectly able to total a heavy in one round.

Basher - Deffinatly mean when stacked, SOG'ed, and tuned, but I can acheive almost as much destruction by puting it on thor, tuning damage, prontoing forward, slamming a heavy into enemy lines, following up, making another attack, then flakking. Then, thor just forgets about the basher and focuses on the driller.

The basher is being used as bait, but its also getting one bad *** turn of mayhem in before it goes.

driller-6 basher-7... thats only a 1 point difference, so I don't mind using it as bait.
