So I recently played a game using the following.

Karchev
Wardog

Spirggan
Beast
Kodiak

Great Bears.
Battle Mekanics (just 4)

I used them as follows:

Spriggan was the forward model, Karchev directly behind him, Beast to the right touching both and Kodiak on the left side so I had that nifty little diamon.

Behind the Kodiak and beast were the mechaniks 2 on each side with 1 each touching either the koadiak and karchev and the other beast and karchev.

The wardog hovered around nearby and the Great bears were the forward unit but only slightly so.

Now this was not a scenario game but if needed I would switch karchev and spriggan to use Tow.

But this brick moved forward nice and slow, Sidearms up.

Hard to hurt the armor 21 spriggan, the kodiak and beast are ready to run up ahead if needed.

This forced his guys to come to me, The great bears were hovering around like a satelite attack squad along with the wardog.

I almost didn't mind a charge into that brick of mine, in the game I had my spriggan was charged by 3 beasts and while it did die, the counter charge that came from the unearthly raged kodiak, and beast and karchev was insane. Beast moved up and threshed everything for a ton, kodiak did his thing (which is amazing) and Karchev and great bears cleaned up the rest, I want to try more with this setup, I think it gives alot of players fits.

So how does it handle a Sevvy or Harbinger list with Vassals, Avatar and Reckoners?

Yeah how does karchev handle lists designed to totally destroy him?
Not very well I bet!

I would have to test it out a bit more. I just had alot of fun with it but you are right admittedly it needs more playtest time.

So that being said:

What could improve this?
What should I really look out for as major weaknesses?

That's not a problem with Karchev, it is a problem with the Harbinger (or, at least, Rebuke)

Why would he have a hard time with Rebuke?

You need a shooting jack. Either a destroyer or a behemoth. You don't have to shoot every turn, but in mk2 you need to have the option.

Things to watch out for:
Purification (pkreoss and harby)- if you're relying on the sidearms brick this will screw you over. DEF goes back to 10, and you can be knocked down again (Kreoss's feat). Lamentation then makes it insanely hard to get the upkeep back up.
pDenny- this is actually as close to autolose s karchev gets. She catches karchev with her feat from 20" away, runs some heavies in. On her next turn you either lose outright or lose your expensive jacks.
pEiryss- disruptor bolt, karchev is easier to hit (big base, def 12) than any other caster.
eEiryss- shoots tow/sidearms off karchev
eHaley- dominate/timebomb/telekinesis/feat- probably the worst matchup after pdenny
pHaley- TB still slows Karchev to a crawl
Goreshade- Skarlock hex blast followed by mage blight. Not nice.

For "brick" stratagies that win on a regular basis go to the trolls thread and you will find oh......zero

LOL true, alot of bricks are just big heavy clumps of slow moving targets.

The thing is Karchev is hard to shoot as I basically have 3 jacks infront and to the sides of of him covering him The front are is mostly protected and there is some decent synergy with the jacks. Moving up like that Spriggan has the highest armor and does have a "bit" of range nothing great true.

The Kodiak can vent and combined with Sidearms can make the Spriggan actually def 15 against shooting (something i forgot to mention above) Karchev is up to 17.

Anything shoots beast and he can technically if its worth it, break off and chase them down.

I know its not great especially in a 35 pt list, but it is FUN.

What you really want is the Bokur. Sure, it doesn't stop spells but sure does stop that random disruptor bolt flying your way.
