So I got a game in today with my local PG during the demo day and we both agree that this game was very fun. I lost 4-2 but we were both trying out the different plays and strategies to see what the game could do, though he did have better plays than I did.

One particular attack that I found useful was the Steamroll when my opponent tried to cage the Grinder. A good way to breakup the stalling tactic while keeping ball control.

Also a big "NO NO" is moving your Goalie away from the goal for any reason. Every time when either me or my opponent moved our goalie's upfield to assist with a play the other player was able to get the Grinder away from the opponent and just walk the Grinder into the goal without any block breaks needed.

Next; a combination I saw that was extremely effective was a Crusher with a Pulverizer and a Grappler. This jack has a HUGE threat range and it almost always ended badly for the Jack on the receiving end.

Can't wait to get some more games in to perfect my plays and develop a play style and arm combinations that work for me well.

Would like to hear about other player's impression of the game.

Played my first full game yesterday and we had a blast!

The game is full of subtle intricacies that allow for some very interesting strategies. It may take a while before this one is fully mastered (at least by me anyway!). Both my opponent and I agreed it was great how the turns got more heated and crazy as the power dice became more available later in the half. We certainly pulled off some crazy stunts on each of our last turns.

Our match ended with a loss for me 2-3, but I had a one turn score turned away just as time expired! I set up with a Runner equipped with a Gyro Shot on the flank and had it fire off a round that smacked a defending Runner into the back wall. I followed that up with a Slingshot play that threw my Magno-ubber Control Runner in front of the Grind at mid-pitch. Activating it, I ran diagonally toward the goal zone, pushing the Grid along until I dropped it in the cleared zone and smashed it toward the goal with four momentum! My opponent's goalie equipped with a Fist and the ever-present Interceptor rolled his four boosts and got precisely four strikes, stopping the Grind just before the tying goal!

Awesome stuff!

Yes I too missed a one turn goal on my second to last turn and would have had the goal on the last turn if I had had one more action dice. Slingshot is amazing for one turn goals. Good report too. It is nice when you hear about the losing player saying the game was fun. And next time our opponents might be the ones posting saying they were the ones who got smashed.
