View Full Version : Basher vs a Weakling.
Would Follow Up work if you kill the model you slam? The area I'm confused about is you would not have a model to move directly towards. If I understand the order of events properly.

The movement on slam comes BEFORE the damage rolls, and this would include follow up.
So you slam...they move the distance you roll +2 unless they hit an equal sized base, etc, your basher moves up, and then they take the damage rolls.
Follow Up
When this model slams an enemy mode, immediately after the slam is resolved this model can advance directly toward the slammed model up to the distance the slammed model was moved.
Wouldn't the Slam damage have to be assigned before the slam is resolved?

If its dead you don't get the move.

Slam damage is resolved after the model is moved, you will get to move first.
Else how would collateral damage even work?

Well, here is what I based my answer on, right from the rulebook:
SLAM DAMAGE:
Apply slam damage after movement and knockdown
effects, regardless of whether the model actually moves or
is knocked down.
However, follow up does state "after a slam has resolved". I would assume the card trumps the book in this case. It would be good to get an official ruling either way though.

Follow up will not work if the slammed model is destroyed by the Slam Attack.
Follow up works like this:
after the you resolve the slam (move target model, knockdown target model and deal Slam damage to target model). If the model is destroyed you would then remove the model from the table. Then Follow Up would activate but since the model is no longer on the board you cannot move directly towards it so you cannot use Follow Up.

Petegrrr, you wouild be right if it didn't specifically reference that it was resolved after the attack (which includes damage and destruction).
So the model gets moved, and then after that is all resolved you get to move. If the model is no longer there you cannot move towards it.
There is no cards/book conflict.
I'm not sure it's a clear cut case. But I could be tricking myself.

The follow up movement happens after the slam is resolved. This includes damage/destruction of target. If there is no target left after the slam is resolved, there is nothing you can move "directly towards".
