So i'm new to the game and picked up Darius because he looks awesome, but i don't really know how to make him work on the table, i know he runs well with jacks but thats about the end of it.

My 25 pt list is
Darius
Ironclad
Centurion
Charger
Jr
Charger
Arlan Strangeways

any tips on army composition or tactics would be greatly appriciated, also i would just like to see people's opinion of Darius.

5 jacks is to much even for Darious, in mk1 I do not believe that would have been TOO bad but now that he got nerfed 5 is too much. So as I was saying, trying adding of unit of stromnlades with the UA or stormsmiths or alten ashely or something that isn't 5 jacks. You may have 4 extra focus laying around due to other solos but still I would recomend in my humble opinion to get rid of the charger and add in Eiryss and maybe a stormsmith to fill in that last 1 point gap.

Compared to what Darious once was MK2 Darious is kind of lame.

I would also remove the chargers to free up 8 points. Two heavies should be more than enough to tear through any big threats. "Yo-yo" your jacks when you can to get them repaired back to full by Darius and Sways. Toss in some infantry for the 8 points you have left. I forget how much SB w/ UA are, but they would be a solid option. If you find out you need some ranged support, gun mages with UA really work out nice in the new format.

Darius is still pretty good, not amazing like he used to be, but I haven't given up hope for him yet. Hopefully he gets a tiered jack list that gives you +SPD to make up for Full Throttle getting hosed.

That's not a tournament list, but can work just fine in normal environments.

Of special concern is 1 - darius doesn't have enough focus to give to chargers as well as run the centy and the ironclad effectively.

2 - the list doesnt' have effective tools to deal with large numbers of infantry.

3- no anti tech (stealth, incorporeal, cloud, menoth)

otherwise, rock on, gain some XP, this list wont do too bad unless you're against someone who is both experienced and brings a cutting edge list.

I run with Darius pretty regularly, and I have to say the only disappointment that I have had was when I didn't use my squire with him. Other than that be careful, the charger has been improved, but is still tough to get your points back out of them. The Journeyman with a Hunter has saved my skin more than once.
