View Full Version : Throw and Immunity to Knockdown

I had a situation come up dealing with being thrown while immune to knockdown.

Molik Karn had the Cyclops Brute's animus on him which makes him immune to being knocked down. He was then thrown by a Gnarlhorn Satyr in a direction. After rolling for scatter we could not figure out what facing Molik Karn would be at. We were unable to find it in the rules (both hordes field test and warmachine mk2 which seem to have slightly different wording overall anyway for throwing and immune to knockdown targets).

So how is Molik Karns facing determined when he lands since he would not be knocked down? Would Molik's controller determine it or would the Satyr's controller determine it or would it be decided randomly such as with the scatter directions?

Hopefully I've made it clear enough.

He would stay facing the exact same direction he always had been.
It would not change at all.

Is this actually spelled out anywhere that we missed? I'm not saying it ain't so, I'm just curious whether it is in writing.

I suppose we probably should have assumed it didn't change, but you know what they say about assuming things.

I pose a different question: Where does it say that the facing changes? :)
The facing stays the same.
Even if you are not immune to knockdown, your facing does not change when being thrown (you no longer have 360 facing when knocked down and you no longer can change your facing when standing up, you have to do it while advancing)

Hmmmm... looks like I need to reread that part of the rules for a 3rd or fourth time.

I either missed or forgot about those changes to knockdown. I was still under the impression you could change facing on standing up.

Are you assuming that during the gnarlhorn's activation, Molik Karn gets to make a stand up move after being thrown? Doesn't seem like that would happen if he doesn't get knocked down, correct?

Nah, sorry. I was just saying that's why I thought it might be an issue at all. But since knockdown doesn't have any affect on front arc and facing anymore, it was a baseless mistake on my part.
