I just need a clarification. If you shoot a spray attack at models that are in melee it ignores the -4 penalty, correct?

The way the MK2 Warmachine rules are worded it suggests only against the models that you are in melee with will it ignore it (in the case of like the carnivean who can shoot his spray while in melee as part of an assault). I just want to know about models you are not in melee with but who are in melee with other models.

I searched the rules forum but couldn't find anything

You are correct. Sprays ignore the Firing Into Melee penalty entirely. Not just when you're also in melee with the target (which would be a very limited rule).

Thank you, I'll have to be more careful of those blackclads then :(

As an additional point, models making an assault always ignore the firing into melee penalty against a model its charged.

wouldn't it also be prudent to mention that you hit ALL the models under the spray template?
