Thanks Almond, it's nice to have a fan :)
Progress on the trolls will slow a little now that I'm done with the WMHC2, so I can get back to some Menite models and get started on my Trib, but I still have some trollish metal to work on - Whelps, a Slag, a Mauler and Scattergunners, for a start.

Great work on your Trolls. I've been doing some looking up on alternative paint-jobs for trollish skin (in other words: Trolls that don't look like Smurfs) today to get some inspiration and really enjoyed the yellowish + bright turquoise Trolls that have been posted on the old boards. The combination with bright pink seems to be working just as well.

I really dig your Lug mini. The red armor and metallic rivets have a great look to them. Great job on all your minis! :D

Always loved hot pink, but there's not much already mixed in Reaper paints. What do you use to get your vivid colors?

The pinks are actually mixes of PP stuff... I assume you're talking about the rocky growths on the Mauler.
1. Base them in Sanguine Highlight
2. Mix of 2 parts Carnal Pink to 1 part Sanguine Highlight
3. Pick out the edges with Carnal Pink
3. Apply a thin wash of Sanguine Highlight
Thanks for the comments!

My paint collection is a mix of P3 and GW, but it's pretty simple:
Base in a mid Grey (in this case, Codex Grey)
Drybrush a light grey (in this case, Fortress Grey)
Very light drybrush a white (in this case, Morrow White)
Liberal black wash (in this case, Badab Black)
Very light drybrush of the white again (and Morrow White again)

Let's go to Candy Mountain, Charlie! Candy Mountain!
I'm sure Mulg wouldn't appreciate it, but I'm totally seeing rock candy growing out of his back.

Paint jobs like this make me simultaneously happy and sad. Happy because its always great to see an awesomely painted army, and sad because I'm not that good and probably never will be.

In time grasshopper I recall my first model I painted.... I think I still have it. Moral of the story: it never hurts to know where you started :)
Love your paint scheme overall, the yellowish skin tone is great! Especially love your winter troll & rune bearer.

Lurve it! Especially the Trollkin Hero, that is a very cool model. I always love seeing unconventional armies being fielded! I would love to the looks on your opponents faces when you pull out pink 'n yellow trolls.

It was covered in Lost Hemisphere blog Here (http://losthemisphere.com/blog/?p=11457) is the post you need :)

Pretty simple in the end. I paint with a mix of P3 and GW paints according to whatever I dig out of my tackle box of paints.
- Base was GW Tausept Ochre foundation paint
- Mid was P3 Sulfuric Yellow
- High was a mix of P3 Sulfuric Yellow and P3 Menoth White Highlight
- Wash with a thinned GW Gryphonne Sepia
By changing up the ratio of Yellow to White in the highlight step, different skin tones can be achieved, and or you can make different strengths of the White portion to highlight further and further.
I look forward to seeing your twist on it!
[EDIT} Ninja'd by Loftybloke! What a charming fellow...

I love your Troll Champion Hero, he is really sweet. Great model, and you really did it justice with the paintjob. The basing is excellent too, did you do that yourself or is it a topper from some company?

Ah! I thought it looked familiar! :) It works really well with the model though. I may just have to get some... although trolls are already expensive enough...

I love the yellow skin tones, not so sure about the pink though......
Overall very nicely done.
I'm not sure why but the winter troll looks like he needs a guitar. His hand positioning just screams for it, maybe with an amp in front to explain his mane blowing back.
