To quote the rulebook: "A model under the spray template cannot be hit by the attack if the attacker?s line of sight to it is completely blocked by terrain." (Primal pg 30)
However, I had a curious situation come up in a game. The attacking model was targeting a model on the other side of a mannikin forest (3" AOE). The attacking model could barely get LOS to his target around the edge of the forest, but the spray template passed entirely through the forest, since it had to be centered on the target.
Now, RAW, the attacker had LOS to his target, so went with it and didn't look back. However, I wish to clarify that this is the correct course of action. The attacker could draw LOS, but the physical spray itself was blocked by terrain. Does this matter? Seems like it wouldn't, but I thought it best to check.
