Sweet! Sweet! Sweet! Sweet! SWEET!
I love the castigator, modeling the combustion is tight!
One thing, you need to base the models. Paint jobs and conversions that good deserve a descent base.

Ah seeing the Bassist of Ord always brings a smile to my face. Been wondering this Gday, any particular reason you didn't base your models?
gdaybloke
11-24-2009, 02:59 AM
OtherChosenOne: I still have about 2500pts (MkI of course) worth of unpainted Menites in my bins. There could be no new releases for Menoth for the next year, and I'd still have unpainted models :)
Spike & Foon: I do base my models (admittedly in a very basic fashion - flock & ballast)... I just like to show paintjobs when they're done. Since I tend to base in batches, I'll often wait until I have a dozen or so models, then base them all at once. A model may sit on my desk completed except for basing, for 2-3 weeks before I get to doing the base. I like to show what I've been up to as paintjobs are finised, so most of my pics are unflocked bases :P
You can see the models based and sealed in the WMHC2 battle reports at Lost Hemisphere (http://losthemisphere.com)
Thanks for the love, lads... and Spike, you can see the Casti in NQ27, about to duke it out with a Polar Bear in Jack About Town :)

The Bassist of Menofix was a gift from Spud, I'm not sure I'm allowed to pass it on to anyone else. I think the unspoken implication was that I would take it to the grave with me... ;)
Regardless, I'm not quitting any time soon... Heck, I just started a new faction...

beautiful work, though it seems like they regret leaving Cygnar for the wasteland. :)
Out of curiosity, and if you don't mind sharing, how long does it take you to finish a figure?

I've always like your work gday. But if it's getting me a chocolate-walnut-strousel-blueberry cookie, ala CaptainSpud, then consider yourself thoroughly berated for the use of too much yellow.
But good work using the yellow in contrast with the other colors. There, now I'm still a neutral party:p:D

Making me want to go out and get harby, i love that model i have just been intimidated by painting her, and the requisite flagpole replacement needed. I mean if i am going to spend that kind of money on a caster i want it to look damn fine on the field.

Very nice scheme. Though it reminds me a bit of Cygnar, it still fits Menoth surprisingly well.
That Castigator is absolutely kickass!
Your Vanquisher looks a bit strange though, as if it was WIP... too much yellow on the shoulders in my opinion. I still have to disagree with captainspud, I find the yellow in itself a great choice! ;)

It's a mix of flock and ballast. You can find both at any model railway store :) Just paint the base with thinned down PVA glue (ie, white wood glue), dip it in a container with the flock and ballast, and there you have it.

Painted the whole thing with Tausept Ochre, then a wash of Gryphon (sp?) Sepia. Then more Tausept Ochre over the broader areas. Fine brush with some Menoth White Base, lightly touching each stitch.
For the record, nowhere NEAR as irritating as picking out the rivets in the Chieftain's quilted armour skirt thingie.
I'm well aware of my own limitations and how much painting large blocks of infantry annoys the snot out of me, so the Idrians are for the most part basecoat, wash, max 2 highlights. Some parts didn't even get a highlight.

I really wasn't 100% sure which scheme to go with, so each of these was testing something different. One has yellow trim on the tabard/shoulderpads, the other bone, and of course, one has white robes rather than grey. I'm hard pressed to pick a favourite.

That Vigilant is a work of pure beauty - it likely brings tears of joy to the eyes of the creator ;)
On the other hand, those Idrians bring tears to my eyes - those are some mighty fine Idrians, I dare say, those are the first Idrians that have made me even consider painting mine as Idrians and not convert them. May do a squad of each, since I'm already half done with the first squad :P

Looking good everywhere. Its all very clean and crisp...except the one you call the warden of purity. I dont like the way you applied the scheme on him. Either the pics are too washed out with whiteness or the menofixes are too dazzling. Its like the creator himself came down and imbued those symbols. They burn my retinas! Then again, that may have been your intention. Or it could be the truth. Its difficult to say.
The irdians are exceptional too. I dont care if you call it a rush job. Your rush job looks better than most peoples slow job. The scheme looks awesome on them.
