I hesitated to create this thread a bit, because I have nothing to contribute. So what's the purpose? I want YOU to show me your Idrian skirmishers.

I find the amount of details on them overwhelming and it'd be my first time painting so much skin (most of our dudes are well known for being covered from head to toes). I am merely looking for inspiration, that's all. Thanks in advance for your input.

Already did that before creating topic and found like 3 pictures of them. I hoped for some more.

Here are mine in a picture from my friends blog. He likes to cram as many dudes into the shots as possible. Not the most ideal picture but at least its fast response time.

^^^ This.

Your Idrians make me want to buy them and paint them. Great eyes; simple. Perfect standard.

Thanks. As is so often the case when I saw the studio paint job I just thought "yeah... I want that". So I didn't really deviate much from it. The biggest difference is just that I gave them black leather in some places to cool down an otherwise warm color scheme.

Both your units are magnificent. I wish I could paint like this.
The most difficult thing for me is choosing a good color scheme for them. My whole army is off-white+red+purple, but that doesn't really suit those desert dwellers and to make the matter worse - I have no experience with painting skin or browns in general.

The red and the purple you could add in via skirts or the plumes like I've done with blues on mine. That way the colour link is there without overwhelming the scheme.

Any chance of a close up shot of one Idrian PG_Kearvin, i can't make out the detail with my old eyes ;)

Handsome Dan's Idrians are pretty awesome looking :)

Best I could contribute is a WIP Idrian conversion - no paint yet, still have to finish the muzzle on the barrel and add some other Cygnar flair to him. Maybe once I paint him I'll remember to toss him in here ;)

I love them. They are much better done than your latest Retribution models. I'd love to play against those.

They're loads easier to paint. Doing white is to make me get better at painting layers.

Thaks for posting the closeups :)

The chief (or is it the leader??) looks really good - and the quilted 'skirts' look great.

What color did you use for the wood gun stock base?

That's the Chief and the Leader. :)

Gunstocks are done with battlefield or scorched brown, then graveyard earth drybrush, then devlan mud wash. If the grain effect isn't working then very little bleached bone/jack bone drybrush then light devlan mud wash.
