Here's a crazy thought, eThags without 2 carniveans.

I've played those lists, and I do love the carni, but the guy just too darn expensive to field twice at 35 points, if you already have typhon in your set up.

I've been trying my had at some more unorthodox e-Thagrosh pairings. I find he works really really well with the seraph... Its not quite as nice as one of typhons sprays, but the threat range is longer, and it brings a new animus to the table. A very good one at that.

e-Thags (+3)
Typhon (12)
Carnivean (11)
Seraph (8)

and
Raek (4)
Forsaken (2)
Shepherd (1)

or
Solider (5)
Forsaken (2)

@ 35 pts

Slipstream and Massacre are two very potent animi at our disposal that I feel are somewhat under-appreciated.

With that said, I feel like another option for those last 7 points could be:

Shredder (2)
Forsaken (2)
Deathstalker (2)
Shepherd (1)

Anyone else have some experience with "unorthodox" e-thags lists they would like to share? I would be excited to hear of something worthy of taking typhons spot in e-thag's battlegroup as well, if anyone has come up with something. Opinions on my lists are welcome as well.

why is only 1 carny and typhon unorthodox?

Well, for one, a bit of sarcasm, for two, its a lot of the basis of what we see on the boards post templecon.

Mostly though, it's the inclusion of a seraph.

I hardly see him in e-Thag lists, most likely for the same reasons I didn't want to play him at 8 points for so long.

I really have seen a lot of lists trying to find what do do with those spare points after typhon two carnis and ethag.

I welcome you to post a list of your own. Any clever twists to an over-analyzed caster hiding under that big post count?

your kidding me every list i make starts with

Typhon
Carni
Seraph...

2inch on all your threat ranges is immense. and strafe has done its fair share of caster damage.

That is true, pow 12's are very powerful when they hit and will kill a wide variety of things.

I use sereph in my 50pt version of SOD, e-thag, typhon, 2xcarni, sereph, (insert odd 11pts of units/solos typicaly legionnaires, incubi, and a forsaken).
