View Full Version : Double Nerfs

Is anyone else getting the feeling that a lot of stuff just got double nerfed? It feels like folks sat around a table and listed every situation that was problematic in MK I for Circle, and then nerfed things without consideration for the sum of the parts or with consideration for MK II core rules changes.

Take Vigilance for example.

It is now self only, which prevents it from being cast on heavy warbeasts to allow them to take a free-strike to avoid a charge attack + follow up attacks.

It no longer a free strike, but a regular attack, so a heavy hitter won't be likely to pull off an aspect removing attack when it attacks with vigilance... However, you can only cast it on a MAT 5 POW 12 model...

Or the super stacking of DEF buffs on a Woldwarden with Kruger. Windstorm is now deflection and provides no DEF bonus. Gobber clouds don't provide +2 DEF that stacks with concealment because of a core rule change, yet the Woldwarden had its Animus changed so no longer provides concealment, and the Woldwarden can no longer cast lighting and still cast its animus.

Yes. In fact this has, in my opinion lead to many of our biggest problems in the FT (Everything other than reeves and Kromac).

When they nerf stuff that used to be overpowered, there's always a chance that they nerf some things a little too hard in their correction. They're not being mean, its just hard to calibrate.

That's fine, and that's why we have a Field Test to figure out the right point where a model is neither overpowered nor underpowered.

When they go over our feedback they'll be able to calibrate things better, so fear not.

Except that most of Circle wasn't really top tier to begin with in MK1. Look at the summer rampage results.

well, there are also changes to core machanics of the game, wich basically are nerfs to some things yes, but firstly changes to core rules.

But yes, i also feel that many things have lessened in power, some more than others, but some of the most "overpowered" modles have gotten all their teeth ki´cked in, rather than just the front row.

it's about calibration, like was said, and it takes time.
