Hey guys,
Just wondering in your opinions on who is our best cryx vs cryx caster and why? I'm going to a tournament that allows two lists. I will be taking my Morty list as my primary, but I'm trying to figure out what to use for a second list.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Not eGaspy. He loses his big soul thingy against cryx. If I honestly had to say I'd probably go with eDenny, or Goreshade. Shutting down magic hurts a lot against cryx. Curse of shadows is also very good. For as much as we tend to be amazing at caster assassinating (as you proved tonight, good game btw), we usually can't take a decent assassination run. So curse of shadows along with a flying nightmare (prey) and maybe some bane knights with tartar's plus 2 movement through enemy models right into the enemy caster could work.
Alternatively you can take Terminus, and just go beat the crap out of everything that the enemy has. No tactics or assassination. Just pick models and destroy them.
Just my thoughts :)

How dare you even THINK about fighting a fellow Cryx Brethren! NO EXCUSES! CRYX FOREVER!
eDenny for Marked for Death. Cryx has lots of stealth and very few ways to do anything about it.
Tarterus, bane chumps, Withershadow, and maybe a couple of pistol wraiths for the chain on the Deathjack.

hmm, I would think goreshade would be good but I am pretty sure mage blight is enemy living models only. however I am also the only cryx player at my local store so I don`t have any experience on this just guessing on what would irritate me =)

Mattmlo is correct about Mage Blight only affecting living models.
I'd probably go with eDenny. On the whole, we can't take a hit, and not being able to move really hurts us more than other WM factions.

I think Epic Skarre is a good choice. Admonition can help protect her from assasination runs or if they run up an arc node to cast a spell, it could allow you to eithre step out of spell range, or move up to engage the arc node
She is not dependant on souls to work and if she gets shut down spell wise by Goreshade, she still has a lot she can do with Seas of Fate.
Also she can be a melee monster being able to cut herself to add an additional die to attacks in addition to spending a focus to boost an attack.
Her feat is excellent in helping your stuff survive or shutting down an enemies heavy
Perdition will give your jacks excelent movement opportunities especially facing squishy Cryx infantry to make it easier to trigger
In fact she will probably allow you to play similar to how you would with Mortenebra and Overrun, but better since your can cast perdition more than once per turn (just keep in mind though that a model can only benefit perdition move once per turn so you have to pick another model in the battlegroup).
Seas of Fate will help unnecessarily spending focus to boost unless until you roll and find out you need to.

Posts here are 100% spot on. EDenny or Eskarre....but in all honesty...both of these casters do great against any army...not just another Cryx =)

Well this list is supposed to be a second list to Morty in a tournament. I'm very strong with Morty and figured I would try and make a force that works similar with eSkarre and perdition. It would be against other Cryx lists and heavy Khador lists (i.e. Karchev)
What do you guys think about this?
eSkarre
- Deathjack
- Harrower (I considered a levi, but I own a Harrower)
- Nightwretch
- Slayer
6 Bane Thralls (for moving shroud)
Tartaurus
Thanks

The one thing I see lacking is a way for Skarre to keep her upkeeps going/recast as they expire without cutting herself. A Skarlock or the Combine would help. That ouwld be my concern. It may not be much of an issue though since the Deathjack can help and the Harrower really doesn't need much focus beyond 1 to charge.

I would say Coven is the best against Cryx. They have alot of denial, and their feat nerfs our already low mat troops, mat4 at best. And the Stygians will be reliably hitting high def low arm casters.

Tried the list last night, did not like it too much, as it is. I think I have one too many heavy in there.
Blake,
Agreed, next version will have a surgeon in there.
Sparty,
Coven is on the test list, as is Terminus.
