Ok i haven't been around in a while and completely clueless to the new point system if someone could help me out, thanks ahead of time

Just so you know you can download all of the MK2 pre-release rules and cards for Warmachine on the main website.

However the new points work like this

Each warcaster has a certain amount of warjack points, usually 5 to 7 which can only be spent on warjacks in their battlegroup. The warcaster themself has no point value, rather a variable jack point allotment based on a formula only Privateer knows.

In general the following is a break down for different model types and points

Solos 1-3 points
Small Units (3-4 models) 2-5 points
Nominal sized units (6-10 models) 4-7 for min, 6-10 for max size (units only come in max sizes)
Unit attachments 2-3
Weapon attachments 1 pt each up to 3/unit
Medium base multi-wound units 5-7 for min, 9-11 for max
Cavalry 6-7 for min, 10-11 for max
Light warjacks 3-6 points
Heavy Warjacks vary widely from a berserker 6 points to a behemoth 13
