View Full Version : eStryker Progression List

Mostly, this idea came from wanting to build up a good amount of Cygnaran models, painting them as i go. I'd like to know what anyone out there thinks of the lists, and possible things i should look out for/change.
At 15 points-
At 25, add-
Stormblades w/ UA
Start marshalling stormclad to the blades.
At 35, add-
3 Storm Lances
At 50, add-
2 more storm lances.
I'm pretty flexible, but seeing as how it's a building block kind of deal, do remember that when going WHY DID YOU TAKE THAT!?! Thanks for the look over.

Looks good to me. :P
Instead of the storm lances at 35 points, I recommend the Black 13th and a bokur or eiryss + junior. The lances just don't hit hard enough, or take enough hits. They compete with the blades for AS. The 13th give you some shooting which you sorely lack, and help against stealthed models. A bokur will help keep stryker alive and healthy for the turn or two you spend getting shot up, whereas eiryss also helps buy time by disrupting the opposing caster.
For 50 points, you have some options. I would advise another full unit of stormblades to milk elite cadre for all it's worth, plus another ranged unit and the 3-point solo you didnt take in the 35-point list.
All of your lists are lacking in flexibility. At 15 or 25 points this isn't too big an issue because no one can bring much of anything, but in bigger games you need to be able to shoot and you need to be able to stab. Just stabby isn't good enough, even with a caster as aggressive as estryker.

Jiub, thanks mate. unfortunately for me, i own the b13th, and have used them in pretty much every game nonstop, so I'm trying to move away from that for a bit. though I most definitely understand what you mean. I also don't "feel" like they belong in the list. If I were to take eStryker in any competitive environment, I would bring them in a heartbeat. But I feel at the moment, that I need to play without to truly appreciate the lack of it before I can use shooting in this list to its full extent. Does that make any sense? Though from a competitive standpoint, I completely agree, and will be doing my best to swap things around and try it out like you said.
Wanting to play a fluffy list makes sense, but if you don't bother to specify that in your opening post then no one is going to know until their feedback is meaningless.
