Aberrations was one of my favorite adventures that I have ran, and I'd like to convert it over to Iron Kingdoms.

Those not familiar with the adventure, as I'm sure you would guess uses alot of Aberrations.

But unfortunately your not going to find Tentacle Monster Aberrations in IK.
Creatures involved...
Mindflayers, Abaloth, Carrion Crawlers, Aberent templates on various existing creatures....

So I'm trying to figure out what would work as suitable replacements.

Sofar I have 3 ideas...
Infernals.... I think this could over all of it realy....
Cephalyx.... all the mind abilities with mekanikal limbs instead of tentacles
Or Both!

I'm thinking both at this point.

The Mind Flayers and Aboleths are both intelligent species with a social structure(after a fashion), so the Cephalyx and the Dregg(although not aberrations) seem to my mind to be the closest IK analogies.

Carrion Crawler...hmm...I have a soft spot for the Thrullg(and it has tentacles!!!).

Aberrent templates on existing creatures? Dragonblighted perhaps?

In the IK, Dragons in general seems to fall more into the Aberration category than Magical Beasts, in the sense that they seem to be anathema to the natural order of things, corrupting everything around them.

The mindflayers could be humans with mechanikal tentacles! To make it less obvious, don't put them on their face. They could be wearing combined headgear & harnesses. The harnesses give them several tentacles in addition to their normal arms, and the harnesses reach into their hollowed-out craniums to manipulate what is left of their brain. When they are killed and the PCs look at the corpse, make it clear that a serious lobotomy was administered to get this rig to work. That ought to discourage the PCs' trying one on.

The aboleth could be replaced with a steam-powered submarine piloted by a mage using mind control magic. In other words just reflavour the psionics as magic and the creature as a vehicle.

The others I would just leave as-is. A carrior crawler is really no weirder than most of the stuff in the MN, and you can describe it however you want while using its stat block as-is. The same goes for the aberrant templated creatures. Just say they're mutated by medical experiments or some such.
