Troll Bouncer

Here's a Bouncer I painted up for a friend. Now to get the rest of the army finished. Took me about 6 hours I think. He wanted the skin tone to look like the Outland Orcs from Warcraft.

i LOVE the red colour of the skin man, and the clean metal look works really well with it

Yeah, the skin's the best part. The armor looks good, too, but that flesh tone is awesome.

Thanks everyone! Yea the armour was pretty simple, but the skin is what sold it for me. Working on Madrak now. His face isn't turning out exactly the way I want, so we'll see if it works.

As for not seeing the picture, I don't know why you wouldn't be able to see it. It's loaded on the Forum Picture Album and set to public.

What is the base color for the skin? I'd like to use it on my pyre troll with a little modification.

The whole model is done using Citadel paints. The skin is Dark Flesh with an Ogryn Flesh wash. I used Tanned flesh to mix in the highlights, but the base is just Dark Flesh over a black basecoat.

@CeltKhan (http://privateerpressforums.com/member.php?u=1748): I think it was Fel Orcs . . . I'm not sure. He was the one who told me the base colour, I just went from there.

The metal is really simple. It's Boltgun Metal given a Badab Black wash. Then highlight the very edges with Chainmail, and the very tips of the spikes with Mithril Silver. Quick and easy. I love washes.

Here's Madrak. Originally he had a red Tartan, but it looks weird with the skin tone. So I repainted it green and thought it looked a whole lot better.

I like the look of the tartan on madrak.

my only thing with the bouncer is that the armor looks too.... bland maybe ? with just the one color that is. the silver looks great, but I think it needs something else. maybe the bronze you used on parts of mardrak. just hit a couple plates to break up the silver ?

other than that, it looks good. keep on it !

I disagree, the highlighting and shading gives it a lot of perspective. I love it as-is.

Whew, there we go. Hopefully everyone can see them now. The Champs are taking longer than expected - I'm not liking them. The arms are boring and badly sculpted - the muscle definition make no sense, and some of the larger flat areas didn't cast properly I think. Kinda discouraged me from finishing them quickly. They just need their final washes and the tartans done though, so maybe by early next week they will be up.
