Hello,
I have always been interested in the winter-guard. I was wondering if anyone had any experience using two full units of winter-guard in a 35 point list. Does anyone have any suggestions for making a list including these two units and have it still be competitive?

When you say 2 Full units I assume you mean
1 10 man w/UA w/3WA and 1 10 man w/3WA
The second unit is going to be missing several very handy abilities the UA equipped unit gets including CMA, Sprays and Bob and Weave. The second unit can get the 3WA which is excellent, but that does make for a 9 point unit.
Of cource Joe can affect 1 unit at a time.
My feeling is that it is probably not worth taking a full second unit, maybe a min + 3WA for 7 points. That still gives a max CRA of POW18 at RAT11 and the 3 rocket attacks. That is 7-9 points though which is enough to buy some other useful stuff. In the case of say eSorcha, who also benefits the WG I would probably take Nyss which can capitalize on her feat and have a much longer threat range on the CRA.
Assuming the WG rifleman are good though they are probably going to be worthwhile to bring.

Thanks for the quick reply. Sorry for not being clear. My goal is to make a winterguard themed army with two 10 man units of winterguard and their officer attachments, in addition to two mortars. Perhaps I should wait and see what the winterguard riflemen have to offer before I invest in two winterguard infantry units.

Hate to burst your bubble, but the field allowance of the winterguard officer unit is 1. That is until they bring out some of the themed lists in the new army book. Then, who knows.

I would wait and see what the themed lists do before buying.

That would be so broken.... man, who would ever not play eSorscha with WG?
Maybe I'll hold off on eBaying my painted eSorscha... :D

If you want a workable 35pt Winterguard list, I'd start with one full unit with unit attachement and maxed out weapon attachments (Rocketeers) alongside Kovnik Joe... which is 11pts. You can then chuck in all the Weapon crews you can (2 Mortars, 2 Fieldguns) for 10 pts. And you have some points to play around with before chucking in the second (full) unit.
One good reason to stick with one unit (for the moment) as winterguard riflemen (a new unit) will be out in the not too distant future.

Thanks for all the advice. Perhaps I will wait and see what the tier army system has to offer before breaking into this plan.
