Brainstorming Blasted Heath Terrain

A little late in the game, but thoughts? Ideas? Inspiration?

I personally am going to try and build a few fallen tree's for my table, following the example of Gareson. I would like to build some pond, swamp templates but haven't been able to find a reliable way that is easily reproducable. Anyone know of any? A cool one I saw was using sheets of clear plastic that had water colors painted on the bottom and then were based around the edges. Looked really good, quite cheap, but the paint on the bottom scratched quite easily. Also, thinking of building some trenches to represent the ruins of Northguard / garrisons around Corvis.

Alternatively, for quick and cheap, make a printout of a swampy style pool, then place the clear acrylic over it.
