I'm going to geting the Cirlcle Battlebox pretty soon. During that time i will be getting used to the rules and everything so i will eventually become familiar with Circle shenanigans. ANYWHO....my question is, what should my next purchase be after the battlebox? I am a huge fan of the woldwarden, the Black clad wayfarer, and the shifting stones. Me and my friend are just starting off, him legion, me circle. Suggestions should try to balance us both to an even points game. I know for a fact hes getting a forsaken as his first purchase, and me, well this is where you come in. ANY suggestions???:p

Well circle doesn't really have a model like the forsaken, but the lord of the feast or whitemane could put a hurting on a lesser warbeast or warlock.

It used to be a Gorax. Now I'd say another Feral Warpwolf or a Pureblood Warpwolf, probably the latter. Then a Gorax.

Depends on your style of play, but I'd say the Gnarlhorn Satyr.

For the sake of avoiding more repetition that the battlebox already has, I'd say go with either a Gorax, or the Blackclad and Shifting Stones. But the Woldwarden is a fine pick if you want another heavy with a different slant.

Building a 15pt list and then working towards that might help, too (when I run pKaya at 15pts I use all three of those initial options above :)).

There is a little piece of me that says wait until the field test is done, and then download the Circle cards once we get some sort of official post-field test rules set. That way you can look through everything for free and decide what you want or don't want. Either that, or buy what you like as that is as good a way to start building an army as any other at this point in time.

I would go for the models you like best. Than ask here, if that makes any sence. It's more easy to say, what's surely not working, than to say whats THE best next pick. (Warden for example is a good hevy with a different role as mentioned here, but a poor choice for Kaya imho).

Ignore this advice. P-Kaya is currently great with a Woldwarden. In fact, adding a single Woldwarden to a list otherwise Warpwolf heavy, is key to extending her range. The ideal 35pt P-Kaya list is as follows:

Kaya (+6 Warbeast point)
Gorax *4
Woldwarden *9
Feral Warpwolf *9
Pureblood Warpwolf *9
Lord of the Feast *3
Blackclad Wayfarer *2
Shifting Stone x2 *4
Swamp Gobbers *1

P-Kaya (as currently written in the field test, pumps up Woldwardens just like she does other Warbeasts. This means they are a very functional MAT-8. This, however, isn't why you take one. You take it for the forest generation. P-Kaya is a very limited Warlock and her two greatest flaws are... 1) no anti-infantry options, and 2) a vulnerability to ranged attacks.

The addition of a Woldwarden plugs the ranged vulnerability hole. She can move forward 7" and cast the Woldwarden's Animus and then spirit door back behind it with the rest of her army as they move forward. This allows you to keep LOS blocked against the largest threats. She can also cast Occultation on the Woldwarden which can move forward and cast its Animus as a blocker. It protects those behind it and it will be protected by Stealth. A Woldwarden's high ARM makes it ideal for suffering blast damage at worst.

The Lord of the Feast and Blackclad combined with Shifting Stones are your answer to anti-infantry (about the best P-Kaya can do). The Stones also pull double duty for repairs on the Woldwarden (which Kaya cannot heal). Lastly, the Swamp Gobbers round out the extra point left over and provide yet one more direction of blocked LOS. P-Kaya is only devastating in melee combat. A Woldwarden is important to get her here, and has the added perk of being a moderately effective combatant once you arrive.
