Despite being a mediocre painter at best I enjoying trying new things and experimenting with colors and dry brushing, different combination and such, while retaining a few elements of the overall army scheme to keep them tied in.
In any case I have a unpainted Spriggan I am going to paint up soon and I want to see what alternate colors people have painted there jacks and figures that I can try on this warjack.
So if anyone were willing, I would like to see alternate Khador colors for inspiration.

If I was going to paint any Khador jacks at all, I would paint them in the mud/snow look that the extreme Destroyer is currently sporting.

I've been painting mine in a similar scheme for a while now:

A bit less mud, but what's the point in painting white if you can't show it off? ;)

This is how I paint my jacks for my Khador army:

Nothing too over the top, I like the simplicity.

Panhead, would you talk about the technique you used for the snow cover on your units?
And for everyone else, any good links to painting on battle damage?
^^^ the best battle damage tuts are on this one forum I used to go to... its called like oz painters forum... google it and go to the articles, there are a ton.

Panhead, would you talk about the technique you used for the snow cover on your units?
And for everyone else, any good links to painting on battle damage?
I'll do you one better, I'll tell you how I do both
For the snow, I first do all the normal basing shenanigans. In this case, adding some cork "rocks" and sand. I then paint them roughly with drybrushing/washes.
After that, get some Baking soda, white paint, white glue, and water. You mix them together into a paste, and slop it messily onto the base (don't worry about coverage, just be sure to avoid the sides of rocks and stuff, think about how the wind would blow the snow).
Now, this won't cover the base fully. After it's dry (give it time), you throw some watered down white glue onto the parts that need a little more, and sprinkle some baking soda ontop. You have to shake the excess off, and even then there may still be some left over (you can see bits that have fallen off on the rims of the bases in that photo)
It's fairly messy, but the raw baking soda gives it a "sparkle" that's not much different from real snow :)
Afterwards, just wipe off/re paint the rims black, and you're good to go!
Now, for the battle damage, I do this at the same time, and the same technique as all my metals.
First, a coat of mithril silver, in a rough scratchy pattern. Then, a slightly watered down coat of Flesh wash (out of production now.. I'm not sure how the reaper inks match up. But the shine is important.)
After that dries, a light drybrush of mithril silver over the metal again.
And depending on if I remember or not, a watered down coat of Badab black to finish.
Actually, I lied. To finish you take some of the armour colour and touch up the edges of the damage. This makes it sharper, and more like "shipped paint". A good example would be the juggernaut's fist.
I've had the badab black ruin it sometimes. I just finished my Kodiak, and it was almost "tar-like" (bottom of the pot.. need to get a new one now). Very dark, even after watering down. It looks fine on it's own, but a little odd next to the other jacks.
I'd suggest doing all the battle damage in one go, just to keep some consistency through it all :D
*edit* Oh shoot. For the snow on the jacks and infantry, I like to strategically place glue and sprinkle baking soda on them. Places that would catch falling snow. Sorscha's shoulders/hat, the MoW shoulders (well, all infantry shoulders), the "Khador gap" area, furs (the manhunter), not boilers and such, but it adds a little to the overall effect.

@Count Flavius
I really love those greens, especially on the MoW. Do you mind sharing what green paints you used there? Thanks

hey as a matter of fact I just started Khador and have been thinking about an alternate paint scheme. one idea that I had was doing white siberian tiger stripes. but something occured to me. that would look great on larger, easier to paint surfaces, but how would you do that scheme on something like a behemoth? because when you're doing a solid color, it's easier to paint things with less surface area. does anyone have any ideas for input?

That Russian theme is the business. Olive drab and red. Classic Soviet colors on Khador.
