I was wondering how everyone feels about the changes to cryx in MK2 as I feel our faction is rather dull. I am sure this has been discussed before but I couldn't find any so I figured I would post my own.

I don't really think it's that dull, I mean we can do some pretty crazy stuff.
What I don't like is how we only really do the same thing in a few different ways, not much in the way of variety for alternate kills, just the method of how to kill things

Cryx dull? Maybe the player, but never the faction :)
If however you are bored with Cryx see if you can borrow a friends force and try something new. Personally, I have Cryx for when I want to slit a throat and Khador for when I want to smash a face.

I wholeheartedly agree with this statement... Cryx is for having fun!

Overall, I like most of the changes. I like the fact I'm not getting laughed at for taking Helljacks now (ok, maybe by some people here).

I think Cryx made out pretty good overall in MKII. There are still some clunkers (ex. Drudges and Overlords, Revenant Cannons, Epic Goreshade) and over-nerfs (ex. Prime Skarre) but for the most part we still have some really nice synergy and combos available. I think the best change we received was in our jacks. Running 2 helljacks is no longer a liability my lists. In fact MK II makes list building much harder because there is no longer as much "auto includes" since the majority of what we have available is useful.

The cool thing about the way that PP does stuff is that Drudges could still be fixed with a later release.....

I only play casually, and have not had many games of MK II, but I like the vast majority of MK II. Neither have I played the game as long as many of you have, but I still gasped a lot reading through the field test and MK II drafts. But I think we can all agree it was never going to be playable if it had continued along its previous path. Every game that expands needs to reinvent itself now and again. I digress.
With regards to the Drudges (even in MK I) just did not fill a role that was not already full other units (be they cheaper, stronger or faster etc.) fighting for the points in a list. And I think that is perhaps that not enough thought went in to what the units purpose was at a development stage; but has now been compounded by not 'reinventing' them with the advent of MK II. But as Lazarus says they can be tweaked via UA's etc, however bandaids are still bandaids and only cover over the problem. But either way its no loss to me I have not bought them and still wont  Not that we have seen the rules for the Ripjaw but I fear this will fall in to the same situation.
Dont get me wrong this is no slander against the fine people at PP they work very hard to get me to part with my money (I am a tight fisted Scot after all).
Personally though I still enjoy playing Cryx, some play styles have become more prevalent (such as the reanimation lists) while others have fallen to the wayside (spell assination) however none have been totally done away with (no matter how much people whine).
So I really think we will have to give it some time. I am sure by the time the next expansion comes out we will all be happy and frothing over all the new shiney toys!
