Since they got nuked in the old Forum I've decided to make one thread for all my 3D Iron kingdoms related models.
I swear I'll finish these things eventually.
Now in Chronological order

Did some more detailing, The hands still need some love. Also playing around with materials, thought this bronze looked cool.

WoW. Impressive stuff. Can't wait to see Fur shading on Warpwolves

@jking: You're going to have to wait awhile for the warpwolves I think... although Circle does have some nice minis....
Anyway, New update. Started working on the back armor. I know the armor plate itself still needs alot of work but I'm pretty pleased how the ornamental "domes" came out, the still need some adjustments though.

Amzing work so far - are you able to animate him, or is he just a posable doll?
Invaderzahn
06-18-2010, 10:42 AM
I'm probably not going to animate him (Sorry) My main goal it to make him a solid addition to my portfolio... and maybe a 3D printing some time in the future...

another little update on the armor. Sorry this is taking so long, but its kinda the template for how I'm going to do the rest of the armor so I've been trying to find a way to make it both look good and not take obscene amounts of effort.
anyway. think I found the way I'm going to do the broad sections of the armor. Now I just have to figure out that edging...

Started working on his hand wraps, I'm taking some artistic license here on his weaponry. I didn't just want to copy what PP has done so I'm kinda making him my own here so I'm giving him some MMA style hand wraps.

$5 says Zbrush I am banking hes also rendering it in Zbrush using some of the affects... I need to render out some of my work too nice to find a thread for it ^_^ Just finished one of the necrotek
I was actually going to ask if that was done in zBrush too. I haven't worked with it personally, but I hear from other 3D artists that it's tops for doing organics.

As a 3D modeler my self it is amazing for organics and you can even find uses for it in machine work that needs simple detail like nuts and bolts. I seen some people even use it for architecture renders that looked more detailed then anything I seen before for chapel work. There is a reason why 90% of models I see these days get a "Z pass" at one point or another. The program is amazing and one of my most favorite to model in personally. I tend to model the low rez in 3Ds Max then hop to zbrush then back to max to render with mental Ray. Though if you rly want to show some incredible detail that is rather fresh you can get away with rendering in zbrush there render is not half bad to say the least.

Here are a few shots of the Necro Tech I finished a while ago I am right now working on the Juggernaut model now.
Creation Process: Image was modeled in 3DS Max + Zbrush. The textures were done with Zbrush + Photoshop. The final render was done with Mental Ray. Hope you guys enjoy them ;)

Yes, Modeled and Rendered in Zbrush. I've really been slacking and need to get my butt in gear and do the last few bits and bobs. I absolutely LOVE Zbrush, great for organics and I have seen some great mechanical details done in it too (just can't reproduce them myself yet).

practice, practice, and mmmmm more practice right?
I'm really glad I followed the link in your sig~! Very cool stuff here. I love the cephalyx (but I'm also a huge Cryx player/fanboy) and the titan especially. The necrotech is nice, but to be honest I'm not a fan of the top half of the model, but I love the exhaust pack and the legs are nice. I'd love to see one with some Cephalyx type arms with different tools on them.

Glad you like it Mugu. Admittedly I've been distracted by other things (painting, girlfriend, etc.) and haven't touched any of my 3D stuff in some time. Also the Necrotech was done by Deo85, not me. He's better at the mechanical bits then I am :P.

Nicely done! It's cool to see people contributing to the fan art area of this franchise! :D
