I bought drago when it was released at gencon 2008 and I am finally getting around to painting him. I am painting the legs and body/arms separately. The legs are what I would call "done". However, before I spray it with the protector stuff, I would like some criticism on a couple things.

1) should the rock be brighter? I think it looks neat dark, but lemme know what you think.
2) should the copper color be hightlighted more? Or should I darken them?I'm thinkin it needs something changed...

The base is an epicast base. I am currently hard at work on the upper body. I havent finished painting a model completely in about a year and half. This is a new color scheme for my army. The old one was yellow and black armour with grey metals. This is the new color scheme.

Looks good, but the rock could use a little drybrushing with a mid grey, just to highlight the edges.

The copper could use maybe a little bit more shadow. Maybe wash some reddish-brown into the corners?

1.) I'm not a fan of "big rock" bases at all. I looks wierd if a whole army is done with these. Should be saved for leaders and/or showcase models. But the very edges could be some brighter for my eyes. The overall dark color of the rock is fine.

2.) Copper needs copper rust. Some greenish spots in the cracks will fit very well. But don't over do it. Try to figure which parts are less moving and apply some copper rust there. Also the other metals could use some weathering, even a brandnew 'jack will have dirt on the feets for example.

Edit: Or try to paint some oil leaking out of the hydraulics. Would fit great for 'jacks imho.

ok, I will highlight the edges of the rock. I am going to redo the copper by starting with a darker base color. I will post pics when it is all done, body and everything.
