Hmm, I am trying to find a good way to carry all my minis during competitions and game play with limited space. I don't need a carrying case but say two boards connected that have recessed slots to put my large, medium and small bases.

I could really use that....call me a Fool but it would be useful!

Add 1 metal toolbox
1-2 washers per mini (as needed)
.125 diameter neodymium magnets, glued to washers
Bake until ready

Lot's of cryptic references here, dare I hazard a guess that the forumite formerly known as Fool has had a name change during the forum update?...

There was a gentleman at gencon, and forgive me I cant remember his name. Him and his wife were selling them for 25 or 30$. It was a multi leveled wooden tray that had beveled out slots that would fit small bases, There were also ones for large bases cut out, and recessed in the were slots for medium bases as well. Fantastic idea, and I didnt have a chance to buy one.

If anyone can direct this fellow to him, i know he is a forumite...but i cant remember his name for the life of me. Nice guy though..

I use a piece of foamcore. IT fits nicely in the back of my bag and i made it 10" wide so i can use it to mark my deployment zone.

My carrying case is a metal tool box that I bought at Home Depot for 25$.

I use a little ball of greenstuff and a 3/8" rare earth magnet that I by from Lee Valley for 0.29$.

Some of the heavy jacks I use a 1/2" rare earth magnet that cost 0.58$ each.

Works fantastic. Only thing Im thinking of doing is putting a piece of balsa with drilled out holes for my models to give the illusion of order.

Nothing moves. Ever. Wedge the toolbox between the front a rear seats in my SUV and have driven over bumpy dirt roads and nothing got out of place.

Only drawback is sometimes, due to the strength of the magnets, the models jump onto measuring tapes. I bought some calipers from Lee Valley. Work FANTASIC. Better then anything else for measuring distances.

A guy at my local game store had one of these; he said he bought it at GenCon. I have googled the hell out of this thing! I would do anything for one of these bad boys.

In all seriousness, I really wish the producers of these boards were more visible. I just wanna paypal them money, and get a sweet model carrying thing.

My friend bought one or two of them, they're nice. I saved my money for models, but they were very well made.

I use a GW case given to me by the aforementioned friend when I first got into Warmachine. I also have a toolbox I got at True Value Hardware for $17 and have magnets. And finally, Sabol foam trays, my least favorite method of moving models. I've had to fix the Buccaneer's arms three times.

What magnets do you use? Where do you acquire them?

I have used RE magnets from miniwargaming before, but with the weakening of the USD and my willingness to support local stores, I am not sure where to purchase them.

I still want those awesome wood things though.
