Hi everybody. I'm just starting out with Warmachine/ Hordes and have gone for The Mighty Skorne .

I'm not massively keen on the standard red and gold Skorne combo, so wanted to do something a bit different while maintaining the feel of Skorne. I've painted a couple of test models, and would welcome any feedback.

I'm not a very experienced painter, and I'm struggling to get a good neat finish that the best painters manage, so any pointers would be great!

TIA
Stuart

I'd say these look pretty darn good. There are an awful lot of raised ridges on Skorne armor, I certainly don't have the patients to pick them out like that.

Nice work. Looks like you got a good scheme going.

You're always going to be more critical of your own work. Well all suffer from it till we get the confidence up. Also, I think white is the hardest colour to paint!

Practice makes perfect, just keep trying and reading any articles you can on more advanced techniques as you master previous ones. :D

Thanks for the feedback guys - I'm sure I am my own worst critic but I'll keep practising and hopefully improve.

Cheers,
Stuart

It looks very nice - the paint scheme is similar to the studio Protectorate scheme, which looks good, so no problems there.

Right, that's what this reminds me of. I couldn't put my finger on it.

And yes, I like it a lot. World's better than my painting skills. Looks great!
