View Full Version : Makeda..going Epic.

So I got my Makeda today, only belatedly realizing that she was Archdomina Makeda and not the Supreme Archdomina Makeda. I am trying to think of a way to make her go 'Epic', as I really prefer that version of her over her normal.

Is there any way to do this conversion, or is it simply a "not the right model, too bad, so sad."? I'll probably do it anyways just to make her the super centerpiece of my army.

As far as I can tell, the primary difference is an enormous head piece. Give me a moment, I'll post the pictures side by side.

Yeah,it seems to be the only big difference between the two. I found it strange that the epic warlocks do not have the super-scenery bases like most of the warmachine epic casters do.

You know, you could almost get away with just clipping the top off of the normal one's standard and the pony tail off of her head and just putting the top of her standard where the pony tail used to be. The untrained eye may not even notice the difference.

How about just making an epic base for her?

A buddy gave me eCaine's Cygnus stone, which I think is perfect for the Supreme Archdomina, but any base with a bit of elevation should do the trick.

if you are jsut playing in friendly games, then just use the Makeda model and inform your opponent that you are playing the Epic version of her...

in a tournament setting, this might not work, but that would be up to the whim of the TO...

In any tournament beyond a small group of players who play each other on a regular basis, it absolutely would not work. In a case this clear-cut the TO's whim will very rarely come into the process.

On the other hand, the Makedas are so similar you could probably twist the pose, change the headdress, and no one would even realize you were using the wrong one.

What exactly is just stopping you from returning her to the store you bought it from and exchanging her for the epic version? That would seem like the most convenient and easy way to me...

It took three weeks to get this one, and with summer rampage already going, I'd rather get her going with what I have.
I'm looking to make her an epic base to show it, as she isn't different enough between forms to make you question it; as long as I make it show she's epic, I think it will be okay.
