Hello.

Just discovered World's Best Comics in Newport News (I'm new to the area) and saw their massive war game room upstairs and the fact that they stock LOTS of WM and Hordes stuff. Any of the local Newport News gamers on this board? Shout! PM or post if there's a specific day the WM/Hordes players show.

I play Khador, a little Cygnar (no Cygnar skills) and also have Trolls for Hordes.

Thanks.

alex.

Not currently in the area, but you may want to try Saturday afternoon-evening. Not neccesarily a big group of Hordesmachiners, but good guys all-around.

I'm currently in Norfolk, which isn't too far away, but always up for a friendly game when time permits a little drive.

I'm going to WB tomorrow around 2PM to see if anyone is up for a few quick games.

Apparently there's a campaign that runs there every other Saturday. Nothing but WARMACHINE and Hordes today. Good times. If any locals read this, they're looking for more players when the new campaign kicks off in a couple of weeks.

Worlds Best has a 2nd floor? How the heck did I ever miss that? I only go in there rarely.. but I thought I'd have noticed..

Yeah, you have to go to the back of the store and then upstairs. It's about the same size upstairs as downstairs, but it's all game tables. There are a couple of smaller rooms also that feature game tables and couches for the RPG set.

Yea I stopped in there afterwork on.. Monday i think and picked up the Primals MKII book. I can't believe the size of the game room up there.
Why's it smell like Cats up there?

Heh. Just noticed this post. I play there every other weekend (with the 'off' weekends for RPGs and such), and am actually the guy running the WarmaHordes campaign.

Sobek: When does your next campaign kick off? Rules, etc? PM, email or post info please.

Does Worlds Best have a active website or forums or anything? I finally dug up a website today after asking the guy at the front desk a couple times. The forums I found for there are pretty dead though. Is there another more active one?

And what kind of schedule do you guys do Warmachine/Hordes on? I'm looking at trying to pick up a game of something every other week, preferably on Sundays.

The next Campaign actually starts this Saturday (The 30th), and will run every other Saturday thereafter. They use a modified version of the Mighty Empires campaign set, including the tiles for the map. We usually get together around noon, go grab lunch, then get back around 1:00 where we start putting models on the table. Send me a PM with your Email, and I can send you a copy of the rules. They're actually pretty simple, and are basically a way to generate games.

No active forums, unfortunately. We pretty much play WarmaHordes every other Saturday. You could probably talk to folks about pickup games on Sundays, but those are usually bad for me personally. One, it's football season, and two I live on the south side, and really only get to Newport News once a week.

That said, south side does have a fairly active tournament community in Chesapeake at Tower of Games. They try to run one tournament a month. In November they're doing their annual Harvest Thralls / Foodmachine tournament, December is a normal Steamroller, and January is an Unexpected Allies tourney (which I'm really looking forward to).

yep I was out at Tower on Sunday actually playing in the Battletech game they were running. Sounds good on the Tourney's, hopefully I'll be able to get in to a few of those once my mini's get in and I get them painted.
