Hey there everyone, I will be moving to Dubuque, IA in a couple weeks and I was wondering what the WarmaHordes scene in the IA, IL, and WI areas looks like, from the searches I've done I've figured out that I'm going to be about atleast 2 hours from any PP venues, which shouldn't be a huge problem given that I'll have acess to an SUV once I get up there, and I'm strategically positioned to cover a tri-state area (I'm thinking of becoming a PG in the near future as well).
Thanks in advance for any info,

Welcome.
There is indeed a fairly strong WM community around. I'm in the Chicago land area and we've got a fair number of venues supporting WM and Hordes. There are fairly regular tournaments and small conventions. Adepticon had PP this year and that was quite a blast.
Further afield, I know Madison and Wisconsin in general have a large number of active WM/H communities.

Too bad you won't be in central IL. We are still trying to get a stronger community going down here in Bloomington.

Comic World in Dubuque has old stock of warmachine and hordes and they will order you things, I live about 30 minutes away in Maquoketa and would love to have someone to play against.
I talked to a few of the people who play Warhammer Fantasy and 40k on sunday nights (their miniature game night) and found out that a few of them have small warmachine or hordes armies and might get back into playing if I brought my stuff up, but the few times I brought stuff in no on else had anything, and then I ended up working alot of sunday nights and gave up...
the address of the store is 4031 Pennsylvania Avenue, Dubuque, IA when you get moved in we should see if we can get anything started there, or at least play against each other.

Thanks guys for the info and support.
@dwickham: Yeah I'd love to try to get some stuff going there, unfortunately it may be awhile as my old army is retired and in a display case at a friend's home in Phoenix, I'll be starting my new House Shyeel army soon to game with and blog about.
I'm also planning on becoming a PG and if we can get something going for Dubuque that'd be awesome.

I'll be moved in on the 10th, and I'm not sure when I'll have an army put together (I'll need to grab a job for income), but if you have enough for two forces of any size, I'll be ready within a week of getting there (I've got a few priorities to handle first, employment and transportation mainly.)

I have a smallish force of trollblood models that need to be based, a Searforge army that used to be 50 points and a fair sized collection of Cygnar models. I could email you a list of what I have, you can get my email from your blog followers.

hey, we also have a pretty active community in Cedar Rapids, with two games stores to choose from. I mostly play at Tempest Games because of my schedule but the other games store in town, battlezone games, in nice too. At both places you can usually find a game any day of the week but each also have a day dedicated to miniatures games, Tempest's if Friday night mostly guys start showing up at 4 or 5 and often we dont leave till Midnight sometimes 1. battlezones mini day is thursday and because i am often busy on that day i really dont know the schedule for them.
