I'm pleased to announce that two regional team tournaments have been scheduled for 2010. This is a reappearance of the event from New England with the addition of another event located further south.

The idea is that each store or club within 2-3 hours driving distance form teams of 3 players whose wins are counted together for the overall win of a team traveling trophy. If you have an odd number coming (say 4 or 5) members outside a 3-man team can still play but their points don't get added towards the team tournament prize. Individual players still vie to win 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, so there is incentive for everyone to come and play.

New England Team Tournament (NETT)
Saturday, June 5th
The Warsmith
168 Burnside Ave
East Hartford, CT 06108
(860) 899-1966
Lead TO: PG_Shadow37

Mid-Atlantic Team Tournament (MATT)
Saturday, October 9th
Showcase Comics and Games
Granite Run Mall Route 1
Media, PA 19063
(610) 891-9229
Lead TO: PPS_Mod:MC

Details on timing of the events and formats will be forthcoming. For general information or questions about this team tournament concept, feel free to PM me or post here. Note that there is no reason any region couldn't pull together a similar team tournament so long as it wasn't in a location that would compete for players from another team tournament event. So please plan on coming to an event near you!

We are sweetening the pot for the MATT with probably the best prize support ever.

Fully Painted Army Raffle

If your army is fully painted (and flocked/based) and you complete the event (played all the games), you will receive a raffle ticket. The raffle ticket that is picked receives a fully painted army (~35 pts) with MkII Faction Cards and Hardback faction book (if available). The faction will be decided by poll and completed before the event. Most likely the army will revolve around a theme (trencher army, exemplar, etc.).

If you guys have theme suggestions, feel free to post them here!

Sounds like a fun event. I'd like to be the first to post Stormnouns as a themed army.

well, considering the tournament is in October, that means all the WM books will certainly be out, including Mercs...

My suggestions for which army should be raffled off would be either:

A: to beat devilsquid to it, a steelhead army!!!

or, a better suggestion...

after looking at the Ret tiered armies, you could pick any tiered list for any faction, and build/paint up all the REQUIRED pieces for that tier to get to Tier 4

(the most expensive -pointwise- Ret. tiered list is 36pts.)

There's been a change to the location of the New England Team Tournament. Same date, but now it will be held at:

Shepherd Salem Lodge No. 78
130 Church Street
Naugatuck, Connecticut 06770

Thanks to Jestor for helping us make the arrangements. I've been to this hall before and it's a nice and spacious venue. It even has a kitchen on-site that will be serving up hot food for purchase.

I'll look into getting a team from Vermont together. Depending on the level of local interest I might be happy to drive down and help run the event while my players are killing stuff.
