Hi everybody, so i'm pretty new to these freedoms and WM itself. My beginning in warmachine(and by extension Khador) almost didn't happen. I was at my LGS looking at GW product (something PP has allowed me to kick with ease thank the lord) and I saw some people playing Warmachine/hordes. One of these people was a guy named Moose (he's always been something of a mentor to me as far as miniatures games), so on an impulse I started looking at the game in progress. I was immediately drawn to the more "personal" feel to the game (not squad A v. squad B but man V. man) and honestly it appealed a great deal to me. When I decided to buy my first battlegroup (I knew I wanted warmachine becuase.... well c'mon, GIANT ROBOTS! seriously....) I was drawn primarily to two factions, Cygnar for their shooty high tech feel, and Khador because well, c'mon they're russians. Everything came down to a single coin flip, and well its obvious which side came up otherwise the name of this post would be different.

And I'm so happy that coin came up heads. My first game was against moose using his menoth army with feora as the caster. All I had was the battlebox, a unit of doom reavers and widowmakers. Although I lost (unfortunately sorscha was the only person in the army who couldnt put out her fire) I was amazed watching two doom reavers tear through an entire unit of holy zealots and still have time to single handedly trash a light Jack. Since then I've refined my playing a lot (i'm still prone to newb mistakes though) and can honestly say that this is the faction for me.

Heres a list of my models:

pSorscha
eIrusk (i use him as prime in the few games i've used him)
juggernaught
Destroyer
Behemoth (although I hate his legs, I want to put him on a menoth wreck marker)
Kodiak
Full IFP+UA
min. MoW DC
widowmakers
doom reavers
greylord ternion
Manhunterx2
Koldun Lord
Kell bailoch
Yuri the Axe
Fenris
Mow Drakhun (with dismount)
Eiryss, Mage hunter of Ios
Ogrun Bokur
WG mortar

Now i know i'm not talking tactics or anything special, I just wanted to stop in and talk about how I found Khador and to hopefully get introduced to some of the people in this forum who are fellow supporters of the Motherland. Also advice on future purchases would be great :) (i've only played MkI so if anybody would tell me how my current stuff changes in MKII i would be much appreciated).

[Edit]: totally forgot to mention the Greatbears of Gallowswood, who although I am very sad they lost Overwhelm, are insane in close combat. I've had them scrap an Avatar of Menoth pretty much on their own :D

Hey man, welcome!
I'm just starting out myself, you've got more models than I do but watch out :p

Perhaps you could look into the Winter Guard next, i'm just learning their ways myself and I think that they're going to be an amazing investment. Be sure to get Kovnik Grigorovich too though, he's super cool and oh so flexible. (flexible = good in this game where every turn means entirely rethinking your strategy)

The other thing about the Guard is that you can attach rocketeers, they're a poor-man's mortar crew and if they die another guardsman can pick up where they left off.

Have you explored any other warcasters?

Again, welcome.

Welcome to the motherland Komrade!

Honestly, you seem to be off to a great collection so at this point you really should just grab whatever catches your eye.

I do recommend picking up some more warcasters as it will just give you more fun options. You seem to like beating face, so either version of the Butcher would probably suit you.

Have fun and feel free to ask for help and advice or offer tips of your own. We can only crush the enemies of our empress by working together!

I am definitely going to look into winterguard. Honestly most players in my area say to avoid them because of their squishiness and lack of some overwhelmingly powerful ability but I honestly love them, and I've seen what Kovnik joe can do and all I can say is wow.

I have been considering pButch because he seems to be just what I want as far as beat face warcasters can go, and he can support his army better than sorscha honestly. And yea I do enjoy beating face, in fact every game I've won (its all against the same Cygnar and Menoth players but still) its been sorscha personally dealing the final blow or doing it all herself. Also just in general how do I attatch multiple quotes to the same post?

Your in luck in that you can download the Mk2 rules and model lists for free from Privateer Press:

Welcome komrade!

Your collection is already impressive. Hearing that you're a big fan of reavers should help people peg which kind of player you are :)
pButcher definitely looks like a fit, but for epic fun with reavers and Fenris, consider eVlad. He's not as cheesy in Mk2 but he's still great fun. Doom reavers boosting damage makes my belly jiggle like Santy Klaus.

Future model purchases, to me, depend mostly on which casters I favor.

In Mark I, Winter Guard might've been the underdog but in Mark II they are now the faction's go-to guys.

I see you have quite an extensive collection. It looks like you should perhaps hold out until the Mark II rules get published for Khador, as a bunch of new models are coming out and you may want to play with those instead of playing "catch up" with other models.

As for Tactics and Strategy, we're attempting to complie that information now. That thread is linked in my signature, so give that a whirl. A lot of it is linked to Mark I stuff, but we're trying to update to Mark II.

And yes, Doom Reavers are quite fun.
