I just primed my girlfriend's Satyxi Radiers and Sea Witch, and one thing I'm noticing the leader's whip. My main concern is how the hell am I going to attach that thing and keep it on?
How has everyone else's luck been? Does it actually stay on firmly enough? Have your own suggestions for securing it? It looks too small to pin.

I've had more problems with my rank and file satyxi's weapons than the leader's. Come to think I haven't had any at all with her's rather solid compared to the flimsy always falling apart whips of the troopers

Actually I just glued it.. Havent broken off yet even though I use it quite often in my Skarre army

I pinned em all, its not too bad. Just dont ever buy the first Satyxis models.... ever. I wish I could tell you what number pin I used, but I forget the number. It may be 1.25mm, but that sounds large fro some reason. I know it wasnt the smallest pin P3 puts out, but the one right above that.

Not sure what run the models are from as they are my girlfriend's and I believe she bought them online (and the Sea witch from the LFGS). The leader's chain that kinda wraps around her just seems to have a tiny contact point; like ridiculously tiny. I'm going to zap-a-gap it first and see how it goes.
My only other alternative would be to green stuff and sculpt it to look like another link for added support.

That sounds like the new satyxis. The problem with the old satyxis was that all their horns were separate pieces.

I just put mine together recently... I would have gone INSANE if I had to put each horn on as well. I had enough trouble with the horns on skarre and the sea witch! The whips on mine (leader and troopers) seem to be pretty solid and all i did was glue, no pinning.

I loathe the satyxis' weapons. Clunky and no grace at all. I exchanged all the lacerators on my raiders with whips made from guitar-string pinned into the handles, and I think that it looks a lot more graceful and cool :)
EDIT: but pinning is the way to go...

I used green stuff on the bottom part of and molded it around to the top, leaving a thing layer unnoticeable on the top.
I have had it together for >1 year and had no problems with it. I didnt pin it, just a lil excess of green stuff will work fine.

I did not pin the leader's Lacerator. I glued in two points. I dry fit it so that I could bend it enough to glue it at the modeled contact point and then onto the base for added support. It is pretty solid now.
Speaking of the old sculpts. I have a full unit of 10 that I am going to be attaching horns onto soon. They arevery small with next to no contact point for the head. I plan to glue them without pins, but we will have to see how that goes. If it seems to be an issue. I might sculpt my own horns by putting a bent pin in the head and using a bit of greenstuff on it to make said horns.

Yeah, I've got six of the old and four of the new. Those horns were the worst. After three broke off in the process of painting, I decided to green stuff 'em around the base. I had yet one more break off.
Then I decided to just order a combination of BLT's, Thragrosh's & eSkare's horns from the parts store for all of 'em. Much better.
