View Full Version : Resurrected Khador warjacks

Many Jacks have fallen in the heavily contested woods of boardering Khador but due to the dense terrain many of these jacks have been impracticable to recover and so have been left for years to rust. As the vegetation flourishes these jacks have become entwined in tree roots, vines, and moss, many disappearing from the memories of the Casters that cotrolled these 6 tonne machines of death.

however, in the mightiest of these fallen War Jacks the cortex flickers, as the magical mind of the machine withdraws into itself. These machines lay crippled by the massive damage that rent open their hulls, but still their cortex flickers on, waiting.

I like the owl chilling on the Marauder. Nice touch.

Oh my gosh, I love these! The walking ruins concept is super cool. Maybe tiny mushrooms would be a nice addition to your next one, or mineral deposits? I can't wait to see more!

i definetly love these.

One question though... how are you gonna paint troops and casters? Semi putrified zombies? THE FALLEN ARMY!!!

fun idea :)

I hope your caster will be the Old Witch? she seems the best for them

Superb! Excellent concept and execution, though the bright blue on the jugger axe really draws attention away from the natural colour scheme. I would suggest painting the axe blade an icy grey instead.

I too really like these, and I also especially like the Owl. Where's it from?

Very original and well executed.

My only gripe: The bases look very plain and do not play up the theme.

I'd add some foliage/bushes/small trees, etc. to the bases to tie them into the warjacks.

Also: You need an Old Witch with Scrapjack done up the same way...

Great painting shows up a lot, but great themes and ideas are more rare.

Great job! Very interesting, and very unique.

Thanks for the feedback.

The owl and branchs are from a GW dryad box.

Also these are the only two jacks I have done in this style. The rest of the army is a recovory party led by the old witch.

As for the bases they are pretty simple due to my lack of resources at the moment.

cheers!

They would look great in my Circle army! Imagine Kruger showing up with these along side a couple of Woldwardens and Warp Wolves!

I have to second this, the bright blue really doesn't quite fit the concept.

Also ... the green on the Mechanik Foreman seems little flat. It kinda jumps out because the rest of the model is so good, especially the face. (Every time I see that model it reminds me of the mechanic from Indiana Jones, Raiders of the Lost Ark. You know, the one who was kicking Jones' *** until he ate that propeller?)

Scrappy, on the other hand, is the most awesome rust job I have ever seen. It really looks like something assembled out of a scrap heap, fantastic work.

You have a wonderful concept here, and well executed besides. Keep up the good work.

Very great Old Witch themed force, but you should slather some crows on random models for her battlegroup! (or put a few with her feat turn style basing, with all the thorns and spikes and what not).

How did you do the moss?

but you should slather some crows on random models for her battlegroup! I will do this as soon as I find a large enough group to justify a PP parts order.

I would suggest painting the axe blade an icy grey instead. The vibrant blue shows the power of the weapon when it is activated, Like the Ice malls of the MOW demo corps. As the jack has been re activated this weapon has fired up again and the ice core of the blade has been restarted, hence the contrasting vibrant colours.

Also ... the green on the Mechanik Foreman seems little flatThis is a simple dark green with light green dry brushed over top, but the photo dosn't show the colouring to full effect.

cheers for the comments.

I wondered if that might not be the case. Sometimes I think taking good pictures is harder than painting the models.

Sure is. Any Wargaming photographers have got themselves a sweet job.
