So, I've only just gotten back into Warmachine after about 9 months without playing. MkII is very different from what I was used to but I like it. Anyway, I already these:

Ravyn
Riflemen
Mage Hunter Assassin
Arcanist

I am wanting to build a ranged army and I'm thinking I got a good start. My question is what do you all think I should get next to make a 35 point list?

Ravyn likes anything with a ranged weapon, so:

Mage Hunter Strike Force
Dawnguard Invictors
Stormfall Archers
Narn
pEiryss or eEiryss
Any of the heavy myrmidons

I run her with Invictors personally, as they also give her a melee punch that her army seems to lack sometimes.

Wow I think Gaze touched on them all, I will try to come up with some thing new.

How about soulless ones to protect your troops, the UA's for MHSF and Invictors, Houseguard riflemen and UA, the cav I think they are called destors, destor thane, ghost sniper(to tell the truth once you start using the MHA, it's hard to go to the GS.)
All the heavies are good, Hydra for 15" pow 15 shot, manticore covering fire, phoenix(sp?) 10" pow 14 AOE.

Definitely recommend invictors with Ravyn. She can snipe them and with their UA, they can get a once a game additional 4". That equates to 5" +10 + 4 +4 of threat, or 23" total. That's horrific. :)

They also have good armor, good melee ability with flank, and flanking invictors that benefit from Vortex of Destruction hit amazingly hard. Additionally, as the invictors have POW 12's on their guns, even two man combined ranged attacks under the feat equates to hyper accurate POW 14's. And the UA can allow re-rolls on combined misses, guarding against the dreaded random double or triple one. :)

She can also grant them static circumstancial pathfinder with Veil, and also block the invictors from the lions share of reprisal with the same spell.

All in all, they are a fantastic take with her.

This all sounds fantastic, especially the Invictors. Now, on the heavies, it sounds like the Hydra is the best call with her but I am wondering why. The Manticore is beasty in melee and also has covering fire and a 3 shot cannon...would that not make him better? And what about Light jacks; no one mentioned those. Do they suck with her or just in general?

Manticore is good too. Very powerful in melee, lots of strength and power attacks, great for covering fire. The 3 shot cannon though? At RAT 5 it can be a bit of a focus hog (each shot past the first takes 1 focus). Most people use it more for Covering and Melee.

The reason people are saying Hydra is the powerbooster.

For every focus point sitting on the hydra, it gains +1 RNG and POW on it's cannon. Very nice long range sniper. Additionally, the Hydra is a focus battery. Any points you put on it STAY on it. It can be loaded up to 3 on Turn 1, and then (usually) needs very few points.

Finally, Chain attack Grab 'N Smash is great for a ranged army. Move up, put 2 POW 14(16) into a target, then throw it to the side. Your ranged fire finishes off the now damaged and knocked down heavy.

The thing about Ravyn is that her feat is a ranged attack booster, but other then that she has no spells or abilities that say "I need X warjack" Locomotion works with all, so does eliminator, snipe, vortex and veil. She will work great with whatever jack suits your fancy. :)

Seems as though Archers and Brutal Shot would combo nicely with this.
