Hello fellow tyrants,

I was thinking about these 3 models rule- and fluff wise.

Ancestral Guardian changes are not that huge. +1 POW.

Extoller, gave it more synergy [something like the bokur client] with the the Ancestral Guardian. But works fine without the Guardians.

Kovaas, is an engine of destruction with endless hate and want to kill everything in its path, gave him a complete revamp.

What do you guys think of these?

Spirit Guide - Before the start of the game, choose one friendly non-character Ancestral Guardian. When the Ancestral Guardian is within 6˝ of the spirit guide this model may spend soul tokens on the Extoller Soulward as if they were on the Ancestral Guardian. An Ancestral Guardian may only have one spirit guide.

I like some of these Ideas.

First I don't think we could get ghost shield on the AG even if it dropped the point of arm. Personally I think the Ancestral guidance, the plus 1 to attack and damage, could be moved to the AG. With the tweaks of any time during its activation and renaming it to "ancestral inspiration" or something similar. My reason being skorne troops want to impress/ honor their revered ancestor in the rock.

The Spirit guide on the Extoller looks good to me, but I don't think PP will go for something like that again. MK 1 AG could get off 9 attacks, Zaal 5 on him and 3 on extoller. But those were also weapon master attacks with it wouldn't have, and it could only go to 7 with this one. Not sure either way on that one.

Kovaas looks fun, and correct me if I am wrong, but is his fluff supposed to be one could take out small towns? Killing spree looks like it would make a better fit with that.

How about the extolers ghostward for the ancestral guardian instead of an extra pow.

He is positioned to be the hardest to take out damage wise solo out their so why not accentuate that role instead of the damage roll that pp has been shying away from for him.

I would love to see a soul laden-ed implacable statue coming down the field with a arm 21. If people still think he lacks any worth when he gets their then a pow 13 may still be in order.

Edited to say that i see he use to have ghostward in your old post. I still think it fits him and pp's vision for him better then more pow.

I like your Extoller idea. I just posted the following as feedback:

Ok powerwise against HORDES, not so much against WM. But most importantly it is a big mess in terms of rules and role.
Spiritual Guidance is never used, because the Soulward has plenty to use souls on, and the mechanics mean that it is ONLY useful if the AG is about to do something important, and isn't full. Guidance is ok, but the reliance on souls is clunky.
Suggestion:
Drop Spiritual Guidance as is. You don't want the AG to be able to buy more than 3 attacks, so no reason to stick to the Mk1 version or anything resembling it. Instead, emphasize the guidance of AGs by having each Extoller be attached to an AG in the army (if any), and grant some bonus while within 6" of it, similar to the Client ability of an Ogrun Bokur. This preserves the fluff, and lets each solo act on its own, but with a distinct synergy. This would also give the AG that extra something that many players feel that it needs.
Laser eye is fine. Great against HORDES, not so much against WM. No worries
Meanwhile, Guidance really needs to target model/unit to be worth using over the laser eye against HORDES,
and just because it's less clunky. This will mainly help Venators, who honestly could use it.

I'm a bit at a loss as to what the Client bonus should be. Not a straight melee buff for the AG, PP don't want them to be too strong. Maybe something that grants an ability to the AG and the Soulward when within 6"?
Say Defensive Strike to the AG and Stealth to the Extoller.
